Perfect budget place for a nice holiday with friendsWe stayed in Les Balcons du Soleil with four people last winter. The appartment we stayed in was bigger then what you would expect from this type of budget accomodation in a French ski resort. The appartment had a pretty large bathroom with bath, a seperate toilet, one fairly spacious double room, one small room for one person (room had a window) and a bunkbed for one in the living room. The appartment was clean, furniture was good. From the balcony we had a spectacular view on the surrounding mountains. The location of the Residence is great for skiing! From the communal ski-lockerroom, it's only a few (steep) steps to the slopes! From there you can ski to the nearest skilift in two minutes. The area itself is great, both for beginners as well as for intermediate skiers. The appartments are a good 15-20 minutes uphill walk from the village center (better take a car), but there are a few restaurants closer by as well (we didn't try them).

Amazing views and Location is Great for Lift AccessThese apartments are very basic but clean and quiet and have everything you really need for a ski trip (including lockers for your skis/snowboard). The views we had to the rear of the property were amazing and also to the rear there is access to one of the green slopes from which you can then ski down to access several lifts. A couple of things to note: Because it's self cleaning you aren't able to check into most rooms until at least 5pm and there is no room to store your luggage, which is a problem if you arrive early and have no car. Also there is no toilet available to guests before checking into your room, which again is an issue if you've just had a long journey. Final gripe was that we had to pay extra for the WiFi, which wouldn't have been a problem, but it wasn't very fast (like unusably slow) most of the time and the connection dropped out a lot, which was annoying when you're trying to decide what restaurant to try next. Every half hour there is a bus that picks up outside and goes down to the town which is very handy because it's about a 20min walk up hill to get back to the apartment. However the bus finishes at 7pm which means it's no good for evening sessions in the bars and restaurants and, other than the bar in the hotel next door, there's nothing really to do in the evenings anywhere near the apartments. Taking everything into account though I would recommend these apartments for Saint Francois Longchamp. Staff are friendly (one of whom speaks English), the access to slopes is good, views are great and apartments are clean and comfortable. For the money we paid it was a bargain too. Enjoy! And try not to tear your cruciate ligament on day 2 like I did! (Sad times, but of course no fault of the accommodation!) Final piece of advice, if you're after a proper Apres Ski Party you have to walk about 30 minutes down the road to the Yeti Bar, it's literally the only party in town, but well worth the walk! You can thank me later!

Good value for money, but...We came to this place through a very nice deal with Skikot. The owner is an unfriendly woman, particularly with young people. In her defense, she deals every week with large groups of students that end up drunk every night, destroying her hotel. Take care of writing down every degradation that has been made to your flat, or you can be fined at the end of your stay for no reason. Some positive aspects though: Great location, cheap flat price, easy access.

Good value Good locationReal Ski in and ski out place. very good value. However, entire hotel no one can speak English, communication via google translation. The facilities in the room no comment, but nothing provided, even toilet roll, soap, and wash liquid.

Great place for your money! Ski in / out!We drove through the Snowtrex, hotel + ski pass. Real ski in / out - only saved and did not make the stairs, I had to climb up the hill about 15-20 meters on foot. Small rooms, but for that kind of money - not quite bad enough. Good budget hotel.
