  Peace, quiet and cleanliness

  We booked a last minute, three day break to 'top up' our Keycamp holiday in nearby Carnac. First of all, I should point out to anyone considering this place, that we didn't find it too easily. We didn't have the full address and thought 'St Laurent' was the name of the village - it is actually the name of the golf course where the cottages are situated. Also - the reception is closed at mid day on Sundays, a fact, we were blissfully unaware of when we arrived at 8.30pm that evening and were unable to access our cottage!!!!! The cottages are very small - just one bedroom in fact, and our girls had to sleep on the two settees and festoon their belongings around the lounge which was less than ideal. The kitchen was absolutely miniscule. A dishwasher (nice) but no oven and no kettle. The crockery was in a small freestanding cupboard in the lounge, but despite accommodation being for 4/5 people, there was only one cup!!! There is absolutely no way that you could have catered for a family for a week there, and i got the impression that realistically these cottages are better suited to individuals or couples who want to stay over, following a golf match. It was beautifuly clean and had plenty of sheets, blankets and towels, and each cottage had a little patio with table, chairs and sun loungers - unfortunately the latter was unusable as the 'arms' were broken. In the morning we went to reception about the cups, and were immediately given 4 more and also a pack of cleaning products, which should have been in our cottage on arrival (it wasn't) Pool was very nice with lots of sunloungers and there are tennis courts and ping pong tables. I think maybe younger children would be a bit bored however. On reflection I was disappointed with the size of cottage and kitchen, however the site was lovely, clean and peaceful and well maintained and the lady on reception was very efficient - oh yes, you can pre order baguettes, croissants and pain au chocolate for the following morning. I would stay here again, but i think (finances permitting at such peak times) that i would try and secure a larger two bed property to make it a little more of a relaxing stay.

  Stay at Maeva (Carnac)

  A great environment in the neighbourhood of Carnac. Special for cycling and playing golf. Also there is much for sightseeing: pittoresque villages and of course the menhirs you enrounded through. Just a family on holiday

  Don't book last minute for a good value holiday

  Due to a mix up on holiday weeks booked with P&V, we found ourselves in urgent need of a weeks stay, and kept with the company to find an alternative. The Receptionist was excellent, and very helpful throughout our stay, and the outdoor appearance of the resort is positive. However, the cost of booking the week in August was 5 times more than in September. The September rate was more a reflection of the quality of the apartments, or perhaps it was because we booked and arrived the same day. The pool is very good, and the location was useful for exploring the Southern part of Brittany. If you plan to go, make sure you don't book at the last minute.

  Golf and gardens

  Les cottages are located at sensible distance from channel ports and offer quiet clean accommodation ideal for mature couples. Swimming pool is excellent and there are a number of good gardens/chateau etc. within area. Parks et Jardins booklet is ideal guide. Golf is expensive but there is a discount and course is good. Driving range provides good exercise and there are many walks within 30-40 mins drive. Belz, Erdeven and Etel provide good shopping and eating choices. Creperie du Gare (Ploemel )and Bistro du Thon (Etel) worth visit. The estuary (Ria d'tel also provides quiet corners (Pte St Cado) as does Golfe du Morbihan. Prices up to end June very competitive for quality of accommodation
