  Good value option for La Plagne ski srea

  Good quality apartments just outside Champagny with a nice pool and spa area. Our family of 4 stayed in a two bed apartment - apartments are relatively spacious and very well equipped but dont expect anything particularly smart. Great indoor pool and spa area for relaxing after a day's skiing. Reception area nice, with very helpful staff, but lacked any ambience as no bar or restaurant. You can order bread and even ready meals there. Reasonably regular shuttle bus takes you to/from ski lift in the morning and after skiing in < 10 minutes (15 minute walk but wouldn't recommend in ski boots). Champagny itself is a nice small village with a few good restaurants, shops and bars etc and, most importantly for us, links direct to the ski area via a 5 minute telecabin ride (you can ski back to the village but runs quite slushy late season). We would definitely recommend for a good value fanily ski break but you need to appreciate that this is not a hotel (some comments on here refer) and it is not ski in/ski out - I wouldn't want to have to do the shuttle with very young kids for example.

  The ideal spot for a mountain lover

  This year we went to CGH les alpages de champagny for the 4th time. It is surely the ideal spot for mountain lovers. It's sucleded, tranquil and very close to a few very beautiful places. From our apartment we had a mountain view 360 ° , heard NO cars, saw NO passing cars. And the small town was barely a 5 min walk.The residence is BY FAR the best place we ever have booked. The apartment was spotless, and cleaned every week. Every week we received clean towels and the sheets were replaced. The staff does everything in it's power to make your stay as pleasing as possible. They even organised a photo contest to let the tourists enjoy each others pictures. And when you have enough of mountains, you can always retire in the blissful welness centre, By car it's a 10 min ride to Bozel, which offers a natural lake, with ALL the leisure possibilities . A very atmospheric lake bar, where you can enjoy a cocktail, or tasteful meal. There's even a part of the lake that is garded, all day round by 2 lifeguards. The town of Pralognon is 20 min away by car. A town from which many breathtaking hikes or walks can be made. Champagny le haut is the gate to the national parc de vanoise. A protected wild park. Courchevel is a 20 min ride from the residence. For those who want to enjoy nature and breathtaking mountains .... There's a perfect spot for a very reasonable price ... CGH Les Alpages de Champgny.   Beautiful property but poor customer service.

  PROS: Convenient shuttle to the Ski hill. Pool facilities were very clean. Bread could be ordered the night before for morning delivery. Well stocked kitchen. Separate ski lockers. Beautiful views. CONS: We were NOT able to sleep due to heavy nightly party noise from the guests above us. The noise went on past midnight and one night until 3:00AM. We complained to the reception at the beginning of our stay and they did nothing but apologize. Be WARNED that there is no hotel staff available after 8:00PM. If you encounter noise problems, the manager suggests calling the police! We did call the police as we had no other recourse. This helped for one or two nights. It is unacceptable that the hotel would leave guests to deal with the police to correct a noise problem. The hotel should have moved the rowdy guests, hired a security guard or been issued a fine. Upon check-out we were shocked that the hotel made no effort to compensate us for the nights that we did not sleep. They did however, offer a travel sized spa shampoo/conditioner, which my husband refused. Skiing without sleep is difficult but poor customer service ruined our holiday.

  Heaven !!

  This year would be the VERY last time we stayed in Champagny-en -vanoise for our summer holiday. After 5 times we were ready for something new. WE THOUGHT !! But you'll NEVER guess ... while in Champgany we have visited several CGH residences in the area. (Menuires, peisey Vallandry, St martin de belleville , Sainte foy tarentaise) Each time we came to THE SAME conclusion. NONE of them can compete with Champagny. The view is phenomenal, the location is PERFECT for he who loves nature, peace and quiet. Parc de vanoise is pure heaven for hikers. Bozel, (10 min drive) Courchevel and Pralognon (30 min drive) offer very attractive entertainment options. CGH offers without a doubt the best deal. Comfortabel, big appartments (well equiped) with luxurious wellness. And a team who knows how to pamper vacationers. YES, you have guessed where we will spend our next summer ... In Champgny en vanoise !!!!

  Lovely stay and great value for money

  We really enjoyed our stay, found that we had ample space for the price paid, very convenient location and lovely staff. All I would add for improvement overall would be to best anticipate guests needs, we got lost the first day waiting for the wrong shuttle at the wrong place due to lack of explanation and despite a few phone calls. Other things could be better anticipated if thinking as a guest who has never been there before. But facilities are great even though a bit crowded during school holidays which could be expected, could not book a spa treatment as fully booked although I would have loved to try but overall facilities were great. Did find it strange that the laundry room which only contains one washing machine and dryer was also left for other villagers to use and not exclusive to CGH. We had contacted them before hand as planning to have items delivered prior to our arrival and Nathalie was delightful in arranging this for us. As a result we will most definitely consider staying again with CGH there or in other locations.
