Surreal experience, but not in a good way[This is a copy of the review I left about this place on Booking.com] Good Points: Location: right on the slopes. The mountain view from the balcony. The apartment had good quality appliances. The lobby has a small library (this is ironic - and should be read as an alternative fact - check the picture attached to my review) The staff from the reception were helpful most of time. Even though they had to enforce strict house rules (see below) Negative Things: Quite a few things: 1. Calling the Madame Vacances helpline before coming was already a negative experience: the operators I had the misfortune to speak to were always unhelpful & rigid. I'd much rather speak to Siri than such employees. 2. The house rules were very odd. This apartment is advertised as 4* but one has to: rent the sheets, the towels and pay for cleaning at the end. We therefore brought everything and cleaned ourselves. 3. When entering the apartment chairs were laid on top of the table, garbage bin squeezed into the dishwasher (put there on purpose to dry (!)), this is not a metaphor. 4. One has to pay extra for using a TV set and for using Wi-Fi in the room. We therefore chose to catch up with reading (actually this should be listed among the positive things) 5. The house has a "spa" (actually a lugubrious small room with a small sauna and a couple of bubble baths big enough for 3-1/2 people), which is open for a very short time each day from 4PM only (except Saturday when it's locked down completely - who shuts down the Spa during the weekend?!). In order to access this thing, one has to wait by the reception each night at 19h, and register a 20min slot for the following day. Imagine explaining such rules to a 4year old who wants to have fun in the bubble bath:wait until tomorrow evening when we'll register our preference for the day after. Good way to teach time to kids. And practice the delay of gratification test. 6. The lobby is plain sinister with a box full of damaged children's toys and books and unwelcoming couches. 7. The house restricts access with an entrance code, but everyone can enter the building through the ski room. This was plain absurd. All in all, I have never thought such a residence ever dared advertising itself as 4*. I first wanted to use the term low-cost about this ski house. But the price for 4 nights was high, more than the French "smic" if you know what I mean.

Very good ski area, good locationValmeinier 1800.We shared an apartment for 6 with 4, knowing that they are not very spacious. We liked the location next to the slopes. Helpful staff. Sauna and bubble bath often noisy(take a swimming suit, you're not in Austria). Ski rooms are small, not heated so take your shoes to your apartment. Free wifi in the lobby, not in the room. You have to pay for TV. Ski area: very good.

Lovely place to stayI stayed in Residence La Vermont in Valminier 1800 in the beginning of January. The location was perfect - close to the slops, local shops, restaurants and bar. Our apartment was bright, big, and very warm with a beautiful view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had free access to sauna and Jacuzzi every evening after booking.

Meer dan waard voor ons geldMe and my girlfriend stayed here for the week during snow season. We booked the stay for 300/person including ski-pass for 6 days. We were really satisfied with our stay here, and felt sorry to leave because it was such an amazing experience. Here are the pros and cons of the hotel: Pros: - great, clean room with plenty of space (we were 2, might get tight with 4) - brand new appliances including coffee machine, toaster, cooking plate and dishwasher - great view and location - good reception and lovely, helpful coworkers - spa is in the resort - the resort is right next to the red slope "chaudanne", great accesibility from here - plenty of parking space nearby - shops, restaurants and ski-pass bureau is a 5 minute walk - wifi in the room (you have to pay) - free bed linen! The cons: - walls apear really thin, i could hear the neighbors talking/laughing - the gear closet for snowboard/ski's won't ever fit gear for 4 people, we had trouble with 2 - you can't go to the spa as you please, need to write down your room number the day beforehand, you can stay in the spa 20 minutes for every item - jacuzzi, sauna, ... - but you can write down your room multiple times - bath tub was a little small for me, might need to go on a diet - bed was really hard, I woke up every day with back ache - you have to pay 20 for wifi in the room for 4 devices If you are looking for a price efficient stay with a great area for skiing/boarding, this resort is absolutely perfect.

February ski tripWe stayed at Le Vermont on our family ski trip. There were some good elements to Le Vermont: the room size was great for two kids and two adults, it was easy to park and it was only a short walk from the main lifts. There were however a number of issues with the residence: it was a little run down in the public area (the lounge area was sadly neglected and therefore underused), our room had a damp issue which made it smell and you could see water stains on the walls, the staff were half-hearted (when informed about the leak they took no action). We would definitely come back to Valmeinier but not, unfortunately, to le Vermont.
