  A nice surprise at the end of a long drive

  We didn't know what to expect from this ski vacation as it was our first in a place without full service facilities. We packed up our large SUV with bedding, food, things to drink and entertainment for the week and set off on a ten and a half hour drive from Belgium. We arrived the same time as several buses (1700 on Saturday) and waited patiently while the two desk clerks handled the new crowd in multiple languages. We paid our guest taxes and Euro 300 deposit (room was already covered through our travel agent) then drove to the landing of our apartment building to unload our gear. The elevator worked just fine and our place was right on the corner. The snow began to fall and we got our place (two rooms for six with separate bathroom and shower with a kitchenette and balcony) ready for the week. We inventoried all the included items: utensils, cookware, tables, chairs, mop, etc. and slept comfortably in our bedroom (double bed) while our son took one of the bunk beds in the adjoining room. Both check-in and check-out were painless and the staff was very helpful during working hours. We had no issues getting our deposit back and the only issue we had was being without Wi-Fi all week which was not the fault of the establishment (our 3G worked so we were able to stay in contact). I have recommended this place for the value, great skiiing and the local charm. Being able to ski from our door to the escalator and then skiing back to our door (along a narrow path from the escalator entrance) was a very nice feature. The rooms are very quiet and the heating is outstanding. No issues with hot water and the pressure in the shower is very good. We opted for the cleaning service (make sure you let the desk know and pay for this if you want this option). You can also choose your checkout time and we went for an earlier schedule to beat the buses out of there. The facility will send someone to your room to look at the conditions and then exchange your key for a paper indicating you are elgibile to receive your deposit.

  Good apartments

  We were offered a different resort and apartment from the company we booked with as our original choice had no snow! We arrived at the apartments to be met by the fabulous Cedric, who was most welcoming, friendly and could not of been more helpful , just what you need after a long long journey. Cedric changed our apartment for us , so we could have two bedrooms with no question. He apologized as the room wasn't prepared for guests , but we found it clean, tidy and a lovely roomy apartment with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. A cleaning kit with a loo roll was provided which we don't usually receive and was appreciated. We were on the fourth floor and the ski lockers were on the second!! not sure why because the lift broke down one night and we had to use the stairs. Staff were again most apologetic and it was fixed by the time we returned from sking. The apartment was less than a minute walk from the escalators and the piste was 5 mins away up three escalators. Straight on to a chairlift/cabin and less then a ten minute ride to one of the ski areas, from there a lovely blue run back down to the resort (amongst other runs). The apartments were below the ski school, ski pass, ski shops, supermarket, bars and restaurants, all easily accessible. Due to the snow finally arriving ski chains were required on leaving, not that easy to put on when in the UK we have never used them. Again, Cedric was there to offer help (we didn't need him as a wonderful guest came and put them on) but Cedric was there. We are unlikely to go back to the resort/apartments due to the distance, if they were closer we would not hesitate in going back and would recommend the apartments as a great base to go sking.
