Hotel horror. This hotel is a nightmare to find. We chose it because it was close to the Superstrada and, we thought, easy to locate in the dark. We arrived on a late Ryanair flight, collected our hire car and found the exit easily. However, then our problems started. Despite having a map showing us the exact location of the hotel there were no visible signs of where it was. The choice was down a no-entry road off a bit of wasteland or a slip road back up to the motorway. Eventually, we spotted an unlit dirty sign - only because by now we were on foot and feeling extremely vulnerable. We then drove down the no-entry road to find it. The hotel/residence is in a dark park and is part of a complex of other buildings including a church and theatre. Still no sign to show us that we had found the correct place. By the bells to what looked like a block of flats we found a small sign saying La Nuova Arca and that Reception was on the first floor. When we rang a man appeared and informed us that it had closed at 10pm. He was the barman of the theatre bar and was able to show us to our rooms but we only just caught him in time. The bar and restaurant were also closed. The rooms were adequate - clean and large with good bed and shower - but despite indicating that we had a child and an infant only one bed was made up so the infant had to sleep in the bed with the adults. The hotel, although in a quiet location,is between a dog pound and the motorway and so we were disturbed throughout the night by either traffic or barking. Breakfast in the morning was packaged and charmless but with good coffee. On checking out we discovered that it appeared to be some kind of religious establishment - there was a chapel and lots of religious icons about. (The New Ark?). This hotel appears on the Ryanair website and Expedia so we had expected it to be a normal hotel with hours appropriate to late arrivals. The nearby gothically themed Pizzeria back on the main road was a godsend (unlike the holy hotel). Brilliant pizzas and atmosphere with charming service and no stakes through the heart.

This is not a hotel!Ok, Zippy3's review below is 100% accurate. This is not a hotel. It looks like it used be a college dorm and everyone dropped out. We also arrived late. Thank god the cab driver knew this place and how to get there. The last couple of streets dont have any lights, so i have no idea how he found it so quickly, but we thought he brought us to some deserted place and was going to hold us up for some money or something. We arrived to a closed door. This is not a hotel. Finally found someone to open the door for us and give us the key. After "checking in" i wanted to use the internet. I was show to one of the computers in the office and told to hurry up because they needed to go home. Didn't i tell you this is not a hotel. After this kind of a beginning I was dreading to see the room. I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was quite large and clean. Good shower, small balcony. The bed was another matter. The "queen" size bed consisted of what looked like a large fold out with two double mattresses propped together. But here is the kicker . . . there is no phone in the room. There is something resembling a phone but i think it only connects to the same office where i used the internet, and there is no one there at night. There is not even an alarm clock, and wake up calls are out of the questions, cause like I said, there is no one there. I stayed up most of the night, because i was afraid to miss my early morning flight. The whole thing was a joke. But there is a really cool pizzeria not too far, about a 10 min walk down a completely dark back alley.

Could not find the hotelI travelled from Florence to Bari for work the next day. I arrived in Bari around 8pm and after following my Sat Nav to the address found that there was no hotel at this address. After searching for 2 hours and even when asking the locals who didnt know the hotel i gave up. The main reason for me finding another hotel was that when i tried to call the hotel to get directions THERE WAS NO ANSWER FOR 2 HOURS!!!! After reading previous reviews about where the hotel was i now know that i was there but there were no signs to say it was a hotel and part of the theatre/ church complex. Also this area must be the roughest in Bari. In the area there is a dog pound, huge prison and burnt out cars. I prepayed 60 Euro on this dump and didnt even stay there. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Our stayWe arrived at Bari without any booking and we were on a budget so we decided to checked a the tourist information to see what we can get. The guy from the desk was very helpful and he got us this B&B. From the airport we took a taxi to there and cost us 25euro. The place is more a convention. The room were not bad only the beds were terrible. some sheets were really dirty so we had to take it off etc. The room was very cold to and there was no heather. The shower was ok but hot water runs out after an amount!!!!!!!!!!!! My boyfriend was showering and suddenly the water was totally cold. Breakfast was just terrible. Coffee machine was dirty, 1 can of milk, two bottle of water and some biscuit and that was it! the place like behind bushes, you need to walk like 15 minutes to get to a bus stop. at night it was very scary to walk the road. But Bari itself was beautiful.
