Great Place to Stay for a FamilyWe stayed at the Residence in for a week in March 2020. We picked this hotel due to its close location to Magnolia Market. At check in the staff were awesome and even accommodated us showing up very early. Our room was a one bedroom suite which was perfect for our small family. The kitchen enabled us to buy groceries and the separate bedroom allowed us to put the toddler to bed while we relaxed. We enjoyed the pool and outdoor area as well. The breakfasts were standard with fresh fruit and yogurt. The nice bonus was the complimentary meals at supper time. The lady who cooks these meals did an awesome job and we found we did not need to worry about supper on most nights. Her lasagna and chicken spaghetti were my favorites. Also the complimentary beer and cheese cake were awesome. During our stay here I found the staff to be extremely friendly and willing to help out any way they could. The hotel is a bit dated but it was clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was handy. I would return to this hotel if staying in Waco.

Comfortable Stay Great LocationWe stayed one night as we were passing thru and wanted to see a little of Waco. Very conveniently located near interstate, Baylor U, Magnolia market, downtown, Dr Pepper museum, suspension bridge. Short walk or short drive. A lot of street parking available. Cool view from the hotel parking lot of the Baylor football stadium. There is a Salvation Army homeless shelter between hotel and Magnolia but we experienced no issues. Theres a half court basketball area but the backboard was busted. Theres a decent outdoor patio area though. Rooms were clean, modern, roomy, quiet. The kids loved being in our studio apartment like room with the living area and kitchenette. Overall the location is great and is clean. Staff is friendly as well. Despite a few flaws we would consider staying here again if the price is right.

Steep decline in 9 monthsFirst, the room smelled horribly like dog. All of our suitcases now smell like dog. Secondly, the dishwasher was not emptied upon our arrival and there was no soap to run the dishwasher. I understand that in this environment cleanings has been suspended. However, that was not verbalized to me upon check-in as it should have been. Due to the fact that the dishwasher wasnt emptied, I requested a cleaning since I wasnt sure that the housekeeping staff had completed the cleaning prior to our arrival. I was denied that cleaning. I requested towels twice via the app but did not receive them. I finally called and they brought some down. The toilet in the king bedroom runs constantly and loudly. Once again, I requested maintenance through the app and no one came. Someone dropped food at the side door and no one cleaned it up four at least 18 hours. The side door is difficult to use; truly, it is broken and needs to be repaired. I went to the desk to buy 3 water bottles and had to wait for close to five minutes for someone to let me pay. This hotel is in a great location for Baylor University families and tourists heading to the silos. However, Marriott should have used the pandemic months to update this facility. We stayed here in January and it was much better than this time. How did it go so far downhill during months when no one was traveling??

Almost very good. Needs to be refreshed.Pros: I would definitely stay here again if I could get another Express Deal rate from Priceline. The rate I got was awesome! Also, this hotel sits a few blocks off I35 so the noise isnt as bad as some of the others. If you are going to the Silos this is the perfect location too. The room is very roomy and felt safe for me as a single traveler. Cons: this hotel is long due for some fresh paint and modest repairs. If the owners wait much longer no one will want to stay there. Its getting tired looking. Now that I know that this hotel is on my radar I will keep an eye out for repairs for my next Waco trip. I travel to Waco several times per year so we will see. Otherwise, my next review might not be as good.

Worst experience everWe travel for my daughters soccer tournaments and this is by far the worst experience we have ever had at a Marriott branded hotel. Our first room smelled like someone had just smoked a joint in there as we walked in. They changed our rooms. We thought it was over then we returned from our late game and the entire second floor stunk like it to high heaven. So we were like lets go swimming, we had made sure to ask when we called to reserve that the pool was open. So we all got changed and headed down and wouldnt ya know it the pool was closed. We were then told it had been closed for over a week. So here we are sitting in what seems to be a complete weed haze through out the entire place and I cant even take my children swimming, my oldest would have been happy with the basketball goal but of course the back board has a home all the way through it. This place is ridiculous. We paid half the money for another Mariott hotel in McKinney Texas which blows this place the hell outta the water. We will never stay at this hotel again. I advise you to think twice about it as well.
