Stay elsewhere!Internet at this hotel is the worst. Wifi goes down constantly. Tried to plug into ethernet, no network. Bbq does not work, computer in business center does not work, printer does not work. If you need to get any work done, do not stay here. Hotel is in desperate need of renovations. My room had a bathroom ceiling leak, when the person above flushed the toilet, it would leak in my bathroom, gross! I switched rooms. The new room has a leak in the bathroom when the person above takes a shower. Hotel staff, including managment frequently seen smoking right outside the front entrance. This hotel is awful.

Not safe, not CleanI made a reservation at the Residence Inn in March,2020 to attend a linguistic workshop at Wofford College. I arrived to the hotel around 10 p.m. on March 6 and I called the hotel a day prior to my arrival to inform them about my late arrival. The front desk employee offered me an upgrade because she said there was an older couple who were occupying my original assigned room and they didnt want to leave. I accepted the upgrade and walked to my room. Since it was late and I had a workshop that started early the next morning, March 7, I took a sleeping pill and went to bed around midnight. Shortly after falling asleep, I was awakened by someone opening the door to my room. I got out of bed and ran quickly to stop the person from entering my room. The male-person informed me that the front desk had checked him into my room. I explained to him that I had already checked in and he needs to leave. This incident made me worried and scared; I felt insecure especially since I was staying at a new place for the first time. I wondered how this person was able to open the door to my room when I had the lock from inside in the lock position. I turned the lock from the inside and I found it that it was not engaging and not functioning properly, so I was not able to lock the door from the inside. Additionally, the safety chain was disabled because the chain itself being absent. The only solution I could come up with was to stack chairs and the sofa against the door. Then I called the front desk and informed them about the incident. The front desk clerk apologized and said it was a mistake. The front desk clerk said the computer didnt show that your room is occupied because we upgraded you. This was very disconcerting to me particularly due to the fact that I had been previously diagnosed and struggle with an anxiety disorder. I suffered a panic attack and had to take a second sleeping pill and went back to bed and attempted to get some sleep. A short time later, my upper body started to feel itchy. At first, I thought the sheets were rough, but then this uncomfortable sensation didnt get any better. I turned on the light and examined my right arm which had a couple of bug bites that had become red and inflamed. I pulled the blanket down and I saw a big bug crawling on the sheets where I was sleeping. I have a photo of the bug on the sheets. When I was examining the sheets more closely, I noticed that there are two big stains on them as if they were not changed. At this point, I didnt feel that I would call the front desk and ask for a transfer to another room due to feeling drowsy from the sleeping medication. I moved to another bed and fell into a fitful sleep. At around 4:10 a.m., I was awakened once more to hear a person talking outside my room. I opened my eyes and I saw the door cracked open and a person saying they stacked chairs against the door. I got out of bed and dragged myself out to the door to prevent the person from entering my room. The person who opened the door to my room left it open and walked away, so I had to close it myself. I called the front desk and informed them about the second intrusion and she said I am so sorry; I was about to call you. By this time, it was 4:30 a.m. and I had to wake up at 6:30 a.m. for the conference and had enjoyed virtually no sleep. I woke up at 6:30 a.m. and grabbed all my belongings and went to the front desk right away to check out and terminate my reservation. I didnt feel safe to take a shower or eat a breakfast at this hotel. I just wanted to leave as soon as I could and find another hotel before the conference started. The front desk clerk apologized and she didnt offer me any solution, she canceled my reservation and I walked out. This was a very difficult situation for me after a long travel day with multiple flights, and feeling frightened, intimidated, and unsafe in a room where my expectation was for a restful full night of sleep at a hotel by Marriott.

Tired, in need of updating and repairsMy adult son and I were in the area attending the BMW driving school. The hotel was very convenient to the school and there were a few restaurants around to choose from so this appeared to be a good location. We booked the 2 Bedroom Penthouse Suite, Fireplace and stayed for two nights. The first thing we noticed was how difficult it was to get the door unlocked. After numerous attempts we got it open and we attributed this to our own inabilities due to being tired from the road. We were wrong. It got even worse the following day. The interior was very tired and borderline worn out. The ceiling in the bathroom had something black in the corner. What it was I cannot say. The security door latch on the inside, the piece on the door, looked like it had been repaired so many times it could have been pushed in by a small child. At one point my son needed to write down some notes and we found no pads or paper or any sort in the room. Okay, this may be COVID related, how Im not sure, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. So he ran over to the office to get one. They didnt have anything. The best they could do, and did, was take a piece, note a piece of paper, from their printer and gave it to him. The biggest issue was the bag of dog feces I had to walk by. The room next ours had left a plastic bag, with dog feces in it, at the top of the stairs. It was there when we left in the morning and still there when returned that evening. And it was still there the following morning when we checked out. I wasnt going to say anything, however I was asked about my stay when I checked out and I told him what I had observed during this stay. The person acted surprised at my observations and said he would notify management. I asked for nothing and was told additional points will be added to my Platinum Marriott account. Given the fact that no points were added I strongly suspect none of my comments were addresses along either. As there are numerous other hotels in the area, Ill go back to the ones I have stayed at in the past.

Clean & SpaciousWe had a very nice and relaxing stay here. Room was clean and spacious. This was our first time staying at a Residence Inn and Im glad we did. We will definitely consider these more often. We just wish the shower had better water pressure

MINO - Marriott In Name Only - Cold Shower & No Wi-FiTitanium Elite...been around the Marriott block. I would have given this a 3 if it weren't for the horrible treatment and quite honestly, Marriott has slackened their customer support, too. Now, everything goes back to the local hotel manager. (Einstein said you can't solve a problem with the same source that started it....uhm....duh!) Room smelled like sweat socks. I opted to open the sliding door and stay b/c I was exhausted and had already unloaded. The next morning, no Wi-Fi. I trade futures and lost probably a $2K trading move before 10am. On top of that, the shower wasn't ice cold, but it was barely luke warm. The manager said she would recompense with some points, which she didn't do, so back on the phone with Marriott to fight for getting some reimbursement. So....a Level-1 review and a suggest you go find a nearby Wyndham because this is a MINO - Marriott in Name Only.
