  Nice hotel, especially if you are staying a while

  I just stayed one night. The hotel is doing a major renovation. My room had been redone, and they did it well. I will say, I am not sure why if you are spending that much money on a renovation, and you don't get rid of the popcorn ceilings, it really dates a hotel. The pool was open, and they have a little putting green. The staff was nice. Negative - the hotel is older and the walls aren't super thick, so my upstairs neighbor taking a shower woke me up. It was the loud sound of water, not a slow trickle. The room air conditioner was really loud. I would stay on the top floor to sleep better. The hotel smelled of fresh paint, the elevator smelled of pot.

  Very best Residence Inn we've ever stayed in

  In Scottsdale - off Scottsdale Rd. & Frank Lloyd Wright at 17011 N. Scottsdale Rd. 85255 - not to be confused with the Marriott Residence Inn in Paradise Valley. We've stayed at a lot of Marriotts, & this is by far the very best Residence Inn we've ever stayed at. It has been recently renovated, the rooms are so very well designed & decorated. Highly recommend it to anyone for business or pleasure. Be sure to Mapquest it because it is no easy to find with no signage at Scottsdale Rd. It's behind a small office complex at the corner of Frank Lloyd Wright & Scottsdale.

  Great stay

  My hotel reviews follow a point system. All points (aka stars) are all or nothing which equals to a potential 5 (duh). Each of these is worth one star; Shower/Bathroom, Bed/Pillow, cleanliness, overall room, amenities. 1 - Shower/Bathroom (its perfect) 1 - bed/pillow 1 - Although I did find a tarot card under my bed. 1 - overall room 0 - amenities (all closed still) Great hotel. The only thing I found is their phone system's light is always flashing and you can't stop it except unplugging it.

  weekend getaway

  After exploring northern AZ, we finished the rest of our weekend getaway with a sojourn in Scottsdale. We really enjoyed our short stay here. The place has recently been renovated and there are many mod cons including USB outlets. The space and furnishings are clean and modern, but maintain that Residence Inn sensibility. Room keys are required to enter each building. While not in the heart of Scottsdale, there are many establishments within reach. The Promenade is across the street and is home to shopping (Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off 5th) and restaurants (In and Out Burger, Maggianos). Downtown PHX is about a 30-minute drive from the hotel. The grounds are lovely - its almost resort-like. Theres a pool (with a jacuzzi) a putting green and a fire pit. Theres also a gym with cardio machines and free weights. Theres plenty of parking too. The hotel offered breakfast, but it was grab-and-go (bagel and fruit). Staff were friendly and check in was a breeze. We slept fairly well. My sister did make a comment about thin walls (she heard our neighbor a few times throughout the evening). Im a sensitive sleeper and was a bit distracted by the blinking smoke detector. All in all, a solid stay and would recommend to visitors.

  Very nice Residence Inn for the week !!

  We love the 1-bedroom Suite at this Residence Inn. We were located on a quiet hall, and on the backside of the property so no street noise ! Yeah ! This is especially important to us as we travel with 2 Siamese cats who are sensitive to outside noises. One downside was the HVAC unit in our room. As the temps cooled outside and the unit converted from A/C to heat, the fan blades started to make noise; sounded as if a jet engine was starting up ! Also, we were not able to maintain the same/similar temperature between the living room & the bedroom. When it was comfortable in the living room, it was freezing in the bedroom. Despite the HVAC shortcomings, this is an excellent, comfortable property and will we consider this location again when staying in N Scottsdale !
