    Vale la pena...

Hotel De buen aspecto. Limpio, nuevo.

    Nasty room and staff

We brought our service animal and thought this would be a great location and hotel. Upon entering we were greeted by the most nasty and arrogant front desk attendant who questioned me about my service animal and also asked me to describe my disability. All in violation of the American Disabilities Act. SHe siad I was going to be charged $100 cleaning fee whic is both excessive and illegal for federally protected service animals. I asked to speak with the manager. Once again the manager asked me to describe the disability that qualifies me for a service animal. I offered to show a letter from my medical provider which he refused to acknowledge. He then stated that many visitors at the hotel had "fake" identification and he was still going to charge me. TRhis hotel was dirty and the rooms smelled awful. Combined with the rude staff I would not recommend this place even for a dog..

I regret trying to book this hotel this time.

I normally love booking this Residence Inn in Pooler, GA. I try to every time I can when I have to travel to Savannah for work. In total, I had to move rooms three times. Normally in my job I'm use to switching one room, but three has been excessive. Checkin was the strangest thing. I normally provide a legal (and very new/recent) ID because of the room rate I get. The lady who checked me in said she needs my drivers license. I asked her why it was all of a sudden needed especially with the room rate condition. She said it was to find my information easier; I told her my address is not correct on the license of where I actually live. I have stayed at a lot of hotels (Marriott and Hiltons), and no one has ever refused a military ID. The other two agents I dealt with were alright except for one other lady I dealt with at checkout this morning. I was running short on time, and did not see anyone at the desk at about 5:45 am EST. I then decided to load my luggage into the car since I saw here at the breakfast area talking with another employee. I ran back in to try to get a printed receipt since I have to file the document (I need to make sure I get a copy for my employer). I also had some items to report for repair to give them a heads up. I stood there for a while while she scrolled on her phone. I had to get to the airport, so I left. She knew I was there, and said have a good day. I was so annoyed that I, as the customer, was ignored when she could see me there. What a change in customer service from my first review a few years ago. I will say, the lady at the breakfast buffet area was great!! The condition of the rooms was bad especially in the days of COVID cleaning. I could tell the rooms were barely cleaned properly. My mom used to be a Guest Room Attendant at a Las Vegas hotel, so I know what she tells me to look for that she's seen other maids do to take shortcuts. I found grease dripping down the cabinet in room 3 (#219). Room 2 (#215) had the shower drain backing up and filling the shower pan. It also had pans that had the non-stick coating coming off. I didn't even stay in the first one because it was excessively dirty on the counter tops (chipped too). I did find with all the rooms, I had to clean surface dirt off the white countertops in all rooms I was assigned. Refrigerators were dirty. I'm kind of expecting my W-2 from Marriott next January; I am kidding about the W-2 thing...not the cleanliness though. Luckily I traveled with some disinfectant cleaning wipes. A guest should not have to clean a room that was "cleaned." Dust was everywhere too (countertops, tissue boxes, and etc.) In the first and third room, the lamp shades were damaged. The first room had the metal/plastic piece sticking out with a heavily cracked lampshade at the bed. Room 3 had cracks in the bathroom's hollow core door. They need to repair a lot of stuff, and change out old equipment. I did appreciate they got me a new pot/pan set when requested. I have expressed displeasure with each employee I talked to, and even requested manager intervention because of the stuff that was going on. The manager was not there. By far, one of the worst hotel stays I've had in a long time. I had two other hotels I considered, and wished I did not book the Residence Inn Savannah Airport in Pooler, GA. I normally recommend this hotel to other co-workers and friends, but will not next time. This will probably be my last stay at this hotel. Key things for them to improve: -Stay on top of repairs -Consistent ID verification -Check on room equipment (pots, dishes, etc.) -Housekeeping training on cleaning rooms properly -Cellphone policy at the front desk --Acknowledge guest or say "I'll be with you."

    Sub-par Upkeep

I have only a few positives to mention about my stay; GREAT LOCATION being next to an Aldi's Grocery and an outdoor shopping mall, gym had free weights and machines were in working order, bed sheets were clean, and they made fresh coffee in the morning...Apart from that, unfortunately, wasn't impressed with my stay overall. I've stayed in Marriott's different brands (e.g. Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, etc.) both domestically and internationally and franken enjoyed every stay and thus have a certain expectation for Marriott hotels. My recent stay was a disappointing first. First thing that clued me into what I was about to get into was a burned out light fixture in the kitchenette upon entering my room. Next was me running the coffee maker and dishwasher and both made a really pungent smell! Fortunately after a few cycles the smell went away in both appliances. And the sink garbage disposal seemed to work...well, it does turn on, but doesn't actually ingest any scrap food like a disposal is supposed to. I'd like to think the appliance issues were all I had to deal with, but the next problem made me scratch my head. You think cleanliness was a given in any hotel room, especially it being a Marriott? Maybe just me drawing a short straw?...MY room still had traces of pet hair on the floor and couch cushions! A layer of dust ontop of the refrigerator and underneath the bathroom sink. Definitely scratching my head at this point...became more skeptical and looked for more potential oddities of my hotel room. Being an Residence Inn/ Extended stay hotel, it has a kitchen and basic cooking tools. I checked out what I had and I had most of what I need....except I had a metal lid that had no pot?... or maybe a pan?...to match with. I'm no cook, but I'm pretty sure this lid goes to the mentioned items. The room didn't have an oven...and I'm only mentioning this because the website for this particular hotel showcased a room that had an oven in it. Stock picture I guess? Last thing to throw out there is that the mattress I slept on was a bit worn around the area where your head and shoulders would lay on. Coffee in the lobby was only made in the mornings and not all day like other hotels do. You did get a breakfast, but it was a brown sack "take n go" breakfast. Finally the staff were generally OKAY to interact with. They weren't rude, but they definitely carried themselves in a manner that showed they didn't really care to be there. I did ask for room service to have garbage taken, towels refurbished, and floors vacuumed. They did that except vacuuming my floor. Overall I'm disappointed in my stay. I will still look to Marriott hotels for my future travels, but I'm holding a bit of skepticism when it comes to the Residence Inn brand...especially the Pooler, GA location. I'm hoping things do improve with this particular location. Better management staying on top can fix these discrepancies. The big thing I would focus on would be cleanliness. Fortunately I have no allergies, but guest that do would find my experience VERY DETRIMENTAL to their health. I understand you allow guest to have animals with them, if not done already, but have rooms or entire floors dedicated to guest with pets and vis-versa for those who don't to cater to those who have health conditions and what not.

    Rude front staff

Unbelievably rude front staff! The woman at the front desk refused to give her name when asked. As platinum members we asked for a bottle of water which we are always given upon arrival. She refused and began to argue and make rude comments to us. Is this the Marriott standard?? Unbelievable!
