  A little dated but best cheap chain hotel near LCC- outdoor hottub!!

  There really arent any nice hotels in SLC. But, I come here to ski, and while its no resort, accommodations are very inexpensive. I have tried a number of hotels in the area, all are old and most are gross as well. This hotel is pretty decent and the outdoor hot tub (rare at this level) can almost fool you into thinking youre at a nice resort after a day on the slopes with a beer in hand. In the future I will always choose this hotel when skiing Snowbird/Alta (unless I find myself willing to pay 5x more for the cliff lodge)

  Great Place

  I stayed here five nights and its great. Comfortable bed and nice size room. Clean property. The staff is helpful and friendly. Location is good for skiing, at the entrance of Cottonwood Canyon. There are a few restaurants and bars within walking distance.

  Garbage

  Ive stayed in a number of Residence Inns across the country (Im a travel agent) and this has been my worst stay. Blood (or similar) in the tub/shower. Toilet clogged. Stain on the sofa. Dogs baking all day down the hall. In the fully equipped kitchen: no toaster, no pots, no pans, and the stupidest salt/ pepper shakers- full of worthless packets that are almost impossible to get out. Lamps that dont work and very poor lighting overall. Theres a lot of choices out there and I wont be back. Its your choice now.

  Amazing hotel for these challenging times

  I am a Platinum Marriott member and decades-long customer. My husband and I were taking our first out-of-state trip since Covid hit March 2020. We planned to ski Park City and Snowbasin for a week. I read the reviews for many Marriott and Hilton (also a longtime member) properties. I called the manager of this Residence Inn SLC Cottonwood because although the reviews were stellar, there were some concerns the end of December 2020. The manager was impressive that he stated up front they had staffing issues during the holidays (covid), but by the middle January they were in full swing and we could be assured we would be happy with our stay. This Residence Inn was truly amazing, especially given the status of other hotels during this challenging time. Our room was very clean, as were the hallways, lobby and common areas and outside. The hotel has a beautiful huge built-in outdoor hot tub that is meticulously maintained. Reservations are required; you have the entire hot tub to yourself for 30 minutes. We had no trouble getting the 5:30 slot every evening. The large outdoor pool is heated and available also - no reservations needed due to its large size (no one used it while we were there). The Inn also has an outdoor paddleball court in terrific condition (no one used it while we were there). We will bring our pickleball rackets next time we come. The breakfast buffet was fresh, plentiful and varied, with large bags provided for takeout. We appreciated the ability to prepare all of our meals in our unit, with the large refrigerator/freezer, stovetop, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and utensils/tools. I can't say enough about the cleanliness, service, safety and unique amenities this hotel provided. The price was ridiculously low for what we received. It will now be our #1 stay in SLC. Thanks to all of the management and staff for their unprecedented level of thoughtfulness and commitment that results in such an incredible offering.

  Not up to standard

  It seemed to us that this hotel was run down. Hall carpets were stained, and hallways were dirty. The worst thing was the noisy rooms. The heat system was LOUD. Staff was great, very accommodating, and even moved us to another room hoping to find a quieter one. Still noisy. I think it needs a facelift.
