Felt like homeI've been going to the Marriott The residence inn in Saddle River NJ for many years, as much as I loved this place all this year's because of the warm welcoming and the warm atmosphere and the homey style hotel, but this year with the covid-19 and everything I was kinda skeptical and nervous of going but I decided to give it a try, I have to say that I was so shocked and surprised that even with all the restrictions and guidelines due to the covid the staff and the whole administration still welcomed you so nicely and made sure that every single guest is feeling like right at home, I couldn't of asked for better service, Carrie, Dina, Chris and Theresa and everyone else there are extremely nice polite and so much patience to everyone, I definitely will return and definitely recommend

Excellent Extended Stay in Bergen CountyThe Residence Inn is THE best extended stay in Bergen County. The hotel facilities are clean with consistent procedures implemented for guest safety during COVID. The rooms have a great functional layout for a longer stay with a comfortable bed, functional dine-in kitchen, and practical work area. Most importantly, the staff at the Residence is amazing! Upon check-in, Dina made us feel welcomed at our temporary home away from home and Carrie made sure we has everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Their commitment to guest service shined through every interaction.

Just rightWe just returned from this hotel. Traveled with my husband and my dog who was getting radiation in Clifton. Stayed in King studio and was just what we needed. Having a Full size fridge was great. Clean and neat. No odors. Clean bathroom. Clean sheets. Honestly i do not know what people on here complained about. All the buildings are surrounded by woods. Serene and peaceful location and very quiet. Down the road from SR-17. Allendale is down the road a mile if even that. Ate a magnificent breakfast at the Allendale Corner cafe 2 days in a row. Rooms were redone in 2017. The staff is the nicest and friendly. I did not catch everyones name except Dina and she along with the others are wonderful! Pleasant stay & would definitely come back.

Disappointing stayWe stayed at this location for 1 week and were rather disappointed overall. Services were pretty much nonexistent, and we had to vacuum the floor ourselves because there was no housekeeping. It was rather inconvenient having to go to the front desk each time we needed something, and not even having a "grab and go" breakfast was inconvenient as well. When we turned on the heat, the compressor unit, which is right in front of the bed, was so loud that it was difficult to sleep. The microwave also made a loud whirring sound whenever we turned it on. We mentioned this to the staff, but nothing was done. Originally, we were planning to stay much longer but checked out and went to another hotel.

Stay away at all cost! This once great facility is now a filthy slum with no service!AVOID AT ALL COST! THIS PLACE HAS GONE DOWNHILL TERRIBLY!!! We have stayed here many times over the past few years. The place in the past gave great service; was very clean and taken care of. The breakfast was superior to those of other facilities. We checked in here on March for 13 nights. If we were able to pick up and go to another facility we would, but we both have disability problems. When we checked into the room we discovered two of the four lights above the sink were burned out. Of the two spools to hold toilet paper, only one had toilet paper and it was about 1/4 of a roll. When we called for more we were told we had to go to the front desk to pick it up, they would not bring it to us. We also discovered that the interior of the refrigerator was not cleaned out, there were crumbs in parts of it, I guess so much for being careful during the coronavirus. When I had a delivery from Amazon and an important overnight FedEx envelope, again, they would not bring it to us, we had to pick it up, it was not this way in the past. In fact, they didn't even call the room or leave a message that they were holding anything for us, I had to call. They used to clean the rooms every day, now it is just once a week. If you want clean towels, you have to go to the front desk. The grounds are disgusting, dirt and debris all over. Dead branches and leaves that are apparently from last year. On one side of my building, a part of the trim and decor of the building is falling off. I hope to post photos of everything. The attitude of the front desk was deplorable. I called Marriott's corporate offices and they took a complaint and said the manager would either call or email me, I received nothing. As of today, this place is no different than one of these discount $275 a week slums you see on the road. I can understand that they cannot have their buffet breakfast any longer due to the covid-19 virus, but they don't even offer a grab-and-go breakfast in a bag as other places do. The Hampton Inn up the road offers a grab-and-go breakfast. Here they said we have some items you can buy. Obviously, we will probably never stay here again, and, have to evaluate if we will ever stay at any Marriott facility. For our return trip home I have already booked Hilton hotels. So, avoid this place unless you want to have a self-service facility that is not maintained.
