  Great Stay, Horrible Customer Service

  My family and I stayed here for a one night over the weekend, the hotel was very clean, room was clean, however customer service was absolutely horrible. I asked for an extra blanket and literally had to come down and get it an hour later. Each of the staff I dealt with from the moment of check in to check out were short. Breakfast was hectic and there were limited options for people that do not eat pork. Finally, my main gripe, there was an incidental charge that was more then the usual 40 something dollars, it was pretty much double the authorized charge to my room pending on my bank account a day and a half after my stay. When I called to express my concern to the front desk and asked about the policy for incidentals, the lady literally cut me off talking so fast and tried to tell me what should be charged. She was very rude and DID NOT listen. I understand that they have to deal with alot of people during this season. But there is absolutely no reason to be unprofessional when you are talking to guests. Your represent Marriott Corportation and should present yourself as such. This is not McDonalds, and even customer service there is better then what I experienced here. The staff needs to be trained on better customer service because this is going to effect how people view this property in the future.

  EXCELLENT HOTEL TO VACATION, LARGE SUITES,

  REVIEW RESIDENCE INN June 2019 Great Stay Excellent Location Could not have asked or wanted a better place to stay for my Annual Vacation! - It is Always was nice to come back to our "home away from home" I stayed at the Residence Inn for 10 Wonderful Night; June 21-July1, 2019 it was my Annual Vacation also visiting nearby Hampton Virginia, Williamsburg VA, and Beach The hotel is very nice 9th time staying at a Residence Inn, as stated Marriott has a "best rate guarantee" of all the Hotels in the Area. It is a wonderful Hotel. The rooms were very large they were all suites with Full kitchens, which are a plus. I never experience any issues at all. Always an Exceptional Stay. Breakfast is always great, I recommend this hotel if you are staying one night or 3+ nights. Some of Suites have a corner fireplace, Breakfast Excellent as always.. I really enjoyed my stay here at this hotel. , Comment on the Staff, the staff is always polite and ready to help with any issues that might occur, great STAFF the front desk staff had everything ready when I arrived. .. Picked up my key card, I was able to go directly to our room on arrival; it was a very HOT DAY the A/C worked great. My Suite setup was great and very clean. I always enjoy breakfast. Staff attending, preparing the breakfast was great also. I would also like to mention the EVENING SOCIAL, Mon; Tue, wed is well prepared, great food, and Free, included in the suite And with the likes of Ruby, Denise working the kitchen (and her fellow co-workers), they do seem to really love what they do and work well great together as a TEAM. I would personally, like to Give My Great Appreciation to ALL the Residence INN Staff, In addition please pass along my sincere appreciation, to Becky Jones General Manager, Danacy, Guest Services Manager, Ashley front desk clerk,, awesome personality LaKeisha Night Auditor, Tamika,Night Auditor, Javell, Housman Mr Curtis, Mr. Will, Pat in Maintenance, Housekeeping, Brenda, Dining Staff, Ms Denise, Ruby, Kristy, Jessica, overall a great team in guest services, and Breakfast staff at this wonderful Residence INN, Newport News VA. I observed each employee compliments the other as far as work ethics,, not to mention some of the breakfast foods provided, large sausage, hot cakes, Waffles English muffins, fresh cut fruits, Daily Pineapple, Cantaloupe, apples, bananas, scrambled eggs,. Great water pressure in the Shower, soft towels, the hotel may be located near the airport; you cannot really hear the airplanes. There is a Mall not too far away for shopping, great local restaurants, and stores to shop, Hampton, Langley Air Force Base, they are not too far away One of my best ever experiences with this particular hotel ever! Residence Newport News VA I could not have Selected a better Hotel, place to stay! for my Annual Vacation Excellent, Excellent ..Much appreciated My Home away from Home, OVER ALL EXCELLENT STAY as always Will definitely visit back again, in June 2020 year after year!   Great location

  I stayed here last year with my parents who are quite elderly and not always easy to please. They had never stayed at a Residence Inn and they absolutely loved everything about it. They are coming back to Newport News next month and have already asked me to make a reservation for them at this location. It is a good location, excellent customer service, the suites are spacious and have everything you need. A plus is they accept pets. I highly recommend this location. Their staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful.

  Not as nice

  Have stayed here before but this time it was not as nice. There was no evidence of special cleaning or measures to offset the virus. Of course no breakfast but they did have bags. Service as just average and they did nothing to especially welcome us. Will not stay here again.

  BEWARE!! DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL

  READ ENTIRE REVIEW!! DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL. The cleanliness is horrible and they're obviously not taking any precautions to ensure the facilities environment is clean and healthy for guest. Apparantly during our stay the property was full and the employees in housekeeping was definitely slacking on their job. We've stayed at many Marriotts and we must say this has been the worst one. It also seems like the management team could careless about the cleanliness of the property so this explains why the housekeeping staff provides poor cleaning service. It starts with management. My suggestion is that corporate should make a visit to this property. Again, DON'T BOOK AT THIS HOTEL!!!
