    This Marriott does not clean rooms DURING your stay

    I have stayed at this Marriott Residence Inn many times over the past 10 years years as my elderly mother and disabled sibling live close by. In addition, for the past 15 years, my husband and I have spent at least two days a month at another Marriott near the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. That property is always sparkling clean and updated, and the staff unfailingly courteous and attentive to guests. My experience at the Nashua Residence Inn this week has been a big and uncomfortable disappointment. I checked in yesterday. Other than signing a COVID-19 clean health declaration, the check in was a standard one. This evening, however, I learned the rooms are not cleaned daily. Now I am standing in my room and wondering just how filthy it must be. I returned after a long and difficult day of meetings with physicians, eldercare, and guardianship lawyers. I returned to my room at 8:30 PM after my last errand of the day - picking up a wheelchair for my brother who has been in the hospital for a month and can no longer walk. Like I said, a difficult day. The last thing I expected was to walk into my room and find that it was not cleaned or made up. The dirty towels were on the floor in a pile, there were no clean towels, nobody had emptied the dishwasher, and the trash bins were all full. The bed of course has not been made either. It was pretty distressing to walk in and see a hotel room like that. All the more so because this dirty room costs more than $160 a night. I called the front desk to mention that my room was not made up, although housekeeping was next door when I left this morning. The man at the front desk asked whether I had requested that housekeeping make up my room. (Am I on glue or isnt that what housekeeping does at hotels?) The front desk manager said, they no longer clean or make up rooms unless a guest specifically requests it. He said the the reception staff member should have told me when I checked in. As an acute disease epidemiologist, I would have paid close attention if anyone even hinted that my room would not be cleaned unless I requested it. Had that been the case, I would have gone to the Sheraton across the street as I am visiting two very dear and vulnerable people. I wouldnt want to have stay in a hotel where rooms are not cleaned and disinfected daily. In any case, I requested new towels. The front desk agent brought them to my room dropped them on the kitchen island. I had to ask him a second time to please remove the dirty towels from the bathroom floor. As he left, I requested that the manager call me tomorrow, but he just walked out of the room and said yes over his shoulder. Then the door slammed shut. I re-opened the door and asked if hed like my phone number so the manager could reach me. He told me to call the front desk because he wouldnt remember it. I asked him instead to call me when he got back to the desk. He did this. It could be just this particular Marriott that lacks the courtesy to alert guests their rooms will remain dirty and un-made until they check out. Obviously, in my experience, the front desk was not forthcoming and was barely polite. The least this Residence Inn could do, if they're not going to clean guest rooms any more, is to ask guests at check-in if they would like housekeeping services. No need to mention the stains in the carpet. They probably wont be cleaned until next summer. If you can, look elsewhere. Or pick up a can of disinfectant spray and perhaps bring your own toilet paper.

    Terribly disappointed with our long term stay experience here. I have always been a fan of Residence Inns but this one did not leave me satisfied nor open to returning to similar properties. The sales person to whom I originally spoke to to reserve the stays for our family never acknowledged it nor said introduced herself to say hello. She never inquired about how our stay was etc. We spent a lot of money for three rooms for almost 3 months while house hunting. The manager seemed ingenious and the lack of support and customer service as long term houses was disappointing. We were dissatisfied with our experience.

    Weekend getaway

    We came to visit a friend who is also staying at this hotel on extended business. This hotel is clean, well kept and near to a few restaurants and grocery shopping. Its about 3 miles from downtown Nashua and also just a few miles from Amherst and the Merrimack Outlets. This hotel follows COVID19 protocol and does not offer daily housekeeping unless you request it the night before. You can always call for any supplies you need. The pool is by reservation only and you are limited to one hour of use.(We didnt use the pool). The daily hot breakfast buffet is now discontinued in favor of self-serve items, but the eating area is fairly spacious. Theres a fire pit outside. We got a very good rate for a king room with a pull out couch. This hotel is fine if you are a Marriott member and especially if you get a good rate.

    Couples weekend trip.

    Reviews based on 1st check in into this hotel. So far its a Plesant check in without any hip cups. FYI, due to COVID, hotel does require you to attest and agree to the terms and conditions abide that youre Covid free when you checking in.

    Ideal stay

    We are so grateful for the suite in every way! Five stars for comfort, cleanliness, pool (with scheduled pool visits to keep numbers down considering Covid), wifi. We loved having the office area and a couch so each of us could set up our own space. For us, having a fully stocked kitchen is so important. While away, we enjoy visiting local restaurants, and we do a fair amount of cooking, too. The Residence Inn fits the bill! I am grateful that housekeeping service is not assumed on a daily basis. During the pandemic, it feels like a good precaution. I feel relief that people are not in the suite each day. I really don't mind making the bed daily, and using the towels more than once. The Residence Inn made it clear that this was the expectation. Wise and safe choice!
