  Dated and worn but still a good place

  Stayed a week at the hotel. It was located directly across from the hospital and stadium. The carpet in the room was torn, a light was out and the shower curtain was old and brittle. About the third day I mentioned the light to the desk and they fixed it. The breakfast was inconsistent. One morning they had sausage gravy but not again. They usually had sausage patties but never bacon. Based on the location of the hotel I would imagine it gets slammed during football season. Possibly during basketball as well which would account for the wear and tare. The desk staff was very good but housekeeping was mediocre.

  Good stay passing through town

  This hotel was clean, dated but clean. Staff was friendly. Just a quick stop for the night when driving south. Breakfast was fin, nothing special th usual hotel spread. Had 2 rooms both were clean but dated.

  Don't waste your money

  Very disappointed in this hotel. Their website advertised a pool and a hot breakfast. No where did it say anything about the pool being closes due to covid or the hot breakfast being a "grab and go" it was all cold food and some premade sandwich that was dry and tasteless. I asked for a refund before I even stayed in the room after finding out that everything was closed and I was paying the same price for all the extra amenities, they wouldn't give me a refund even though their website is false advertising and the front desk receptionist called the manager, and came back to and told me I should have called to ask.. Well update your website. SECOND the room wasn't very clean the couch had stains and hair all over it. There was a blood stain on the wall in the bathroom and hair in the corners, our mattress had blood stains on it and the carpet was all stained up. In the morning I went to make coffee and opened up the pot and it still have a coffee ground pack in it with mold all in the grinds holder. Never again will I stay here or with any Marriott hotel. Don't waste your money here.

  Needs major updating

  The staff was very friendly and helped with what they could but Marriott needs to give this hotel some love. It looks like they have updated the grounds and lobby, but the rooms are so outdated and used. We had a 1 bedroom suite that came with 2 closets. The closet doors dont even open correctly so you could only use about 1/4 of the large closet and no space in the small closet. The furniture was very used, stains on the sofa, bed falling apart, bedding very old and pillows so old it felt like you were sleeping on the mattress because they were so flat. The bathroom was just old. Mildew and paint/wallpaper torn. You couldnt use the pool due to Covid but other Marriott hotels in WV you can, so not sure why you cant in Morgantown. We even called before our trip to find out if they had a pool and they answered yes. They didnt say yes, but its not open. Pros - near lots of restaurants and shopping. Staff was very helpful and tried to accommodate the best they could.

  Best customer service/receptionist ever!

  We had a very very horrible experience with a different hotel in the area that told us they would accept cash payment but when we got there 1 hour later they said no. I had a family member on the phone willing to use her card(we had cash only) but the receptionist at that hotel looked at us like we were trash(we are far from it,sorry I wasnt willing to put on a gown and tiara when im stuck in a car for 2 hours) and said no to that also. So me my husband and 2 yr old(which is due for surgery the next morning) are literally stranded 2 hours from home. That same family member called The Residence Inn and spoke to a man named Jordan whike I was on speaker phone the whole time listening to them. His customer service skills were exceptional and made sure we were accommodated very quickly. Jordan deserves a raise, a promotion anything to let him know that he is extremely good at his job. Thank You Jordan a million times! Also, the room was perfect and clean!
