Always a fantastic stayWhenever I drive back to Hazleton to visit family I always stay at the Residence Inn. The staff is very friendly, the lobby is warm and inviting, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the free breakfast is always delicious. My husband stays at a ton of Marriotts for work and hes always very pleased with this hotel. We love the 2 bedroom suite and appreciate Carla going above and beyond! I highly recommend you book this hotel if you are staying in the area or passing through. Thank you again for another wonderful stay!

Very upsetting stayWe started by checking in, was told we could upgrade, and then couldnt figure out how to do we didnt. The room was ok, but the bathroom was gross. Didnt even have the shower liner, just a curtain. Went to use the shampoo and found it was previously used. Breakfast was not good at all, ran out of milk. Over all the worst residence inn stay we have stayed out.

Pennsylvania 2019The light switch for shower is in an unusual location, inside the room instead of outside and was covered by the towels. Ran out towels in gym and pool area. Adequate hot breakfast. Suites are clean and adequate in size. Our room was missing the usual luggage rack.

Best in TownMy company works all over the country and Ive never found a better place to stay while visiting a jobsite than this place. The rooms are as good as you can find and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure everything you need is taken care of. If you are visiting this area I highly recommend staying here.

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia....Stay Away Racists and Rude....Hello to all.. Would like to start this review by 1st saying that I typically do not find myself, ever, writing a review.. This is because everyone's experience and/or expectations (depending on their needs and wants) can be vastly different.. However, I like to consider myself someone who has "normal" expectations when staying away from home. Simply speaking, cleanliness is for me the most important (especially in this day in age), 2nd food choices and 3rd amenities. But sometimes if let's say the amenities or other are lacking, great customer service can make a world of difference. We just stayed at the Residence Inn, Hazleton this past weekend (Aug 1st to the 2nd) and dealt with 1st hand some of the worst customer service we EVER experienced. I mean EVER...We choose this location initially because it checked off most of our needs...We were a group of 10 and 3 rooms checking in after a long day on the river, approx. 7pm. I was 2nd in line behind 2 in my group. I could see my friend a bit upset and wasn't sure why as I had gotten there a few mns after she started. I didn't immediately ask and starting speaking with another friend who was waiting. I could see the front desk person made no effort to engage AT ALL. NO eye contact, zero pleasantries, nothing. When my turn, she didn't bother saying hello, welcome, nothing/zero acknowldgement. Front desk rep only took my cards (ID and CC) from my hand, didn't say a word nor look at me. As a 15 year SPG member (now Bonvoy) I asked if we could do a late checkout and was immediately and rudely told that I must call the next morning to check (so you are telling me you do not know the night prior if you are booked the next day or not??).. I actually knew they weren't fully booked and far from it, so why she didn't want to accommodate is beyond me.. But no biggie.. Every question made by her, (car make/model), pet, or other was brash and just uncomfortable to me. As if it bothered her we were there at the hotel, checking in. This is how it felt. This is not a cheap hotel either. It was approx. $200 a night for regular studio room and higher. No amenities were available (which I can understand), the hot breakfast was also not available. I have paid much less at a Holiday INN for much more. So why the attitude, the brashness?? Why no eye contact, no "enjoy your stay", nothing... My husband felt exactly the same. The last set of our group experienced exactly the same "warm" reception. We are not loud mouths, rude or otherwise. We were respectful and experienced much lesser in return. The only thing I can say about this hotel is that is is clean. Yes. Which during a pandemic is more important than ever. However, housekeeping is responsible for that and not the front desk. The person who checked us in was Marcia. I know that because I called down after the 3rd room told me their experience was horrible. Once she confirmed it was her who checked us in, I asked her if it was "normal practice" to treat all guests in the manner she did, where not even a hello was gifted. We are in a pandemic, you would think a hotel who has been hurting of reservations would want to make you feel welcomed and appreaciate you wanting to spend with them. Marcia, said the following: "I did say hello but you were speaking to someone in a "different language" and didn't hear me".. Excuse me?? So let me get this straight, Marcia says hello to me while I wasn't even checking in, was to the side of the desk waiting for my friend to finish and speaking low to the other guest and I didn't hear her?? Huh? I ask her, why would it matter if I was speaking with another person in "Spanish" while you should have been more concerned to complete the other guests check in? Why was that something you had to say and immediately notice? Did I speak with you in English? Am I not writing in English? I just do not understand the comment...It made no sense. Quite upsetting actually. It is clear to me there was racists undertones to her treatment of all of us. This is NOT ok by any standard. Please stay clear of this hotel if human decency is important to you... Sincerely, The girl who spoke in another language..
