Very cleabThe hotel is right of the interstate. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from the highway as you can hear it. The breakfast was good and the managers evening social should be attended if you are there by 6 PM. The room was clean and very spacious. Staff is very friendly.

Very disappointed in this Residence InnThis hotel was rated 4.6 out of 5 so it sounded like a good choice for an overnight stay. We've stayed at the Drury Inn (very nice) and the Comfort Suites which are both close, and they were both nice. We booked this via Hotwire to save about $20. Well, first they would not give us a room with 2 beds "because you booked through Hotwire." That should have been made clear on Hotwire as I was traveling with my adult son and we DO NOT share a bed. But, OK -- after all there is a pull out sofa... The room was OK to look at and seemed clean. The pull out sofa was not made up and there was only one sheet & blanket in a kit in the closet... The sofa was VERY uncomfortable. There was only one bath towel and one face towel in the room! I have never been in a hotel with only one towel let alone one rated 4.6 stars! The shampoo, body wash & conditioner were not individual bottles but rather large bottles in the bathtub. In these days of COVID that doesn't seem particularly safe! No hair dryer either. Oh and the TV? Only one (on a swivel), and the tv remote barely worked. You had to keep fussing with it constantly (probably batteries going bad but now way to fiddle with them)... TV kept shutting off (it would say "press OK to continue and -- guess what? Wonky remote wouldn't recognize the OK button). Definitely not 4 stars or even 3. I give it 2 based on cleanliness and staff were "somewhat" friendly... Never staying here again. I'll stick with the Drury Inn or Comfort Suites -- too many decent choices in Gainesville to put up with this nonsense!

Beautiful Hotel but a lot of I-75 road noiseThe hotel was very nice and clean. However make sure you ask for a room away from I-75 or bring ear plugs. Our family had 2 rooms, one on each side of the building. We didnt sleep well at all due to the noise but my in-laws slept great.

Still capable of providing an exceptional experienceSince the beginning of COVID, I have traveled a handful of times to different areas of the U.S. It has stunned me over and over how many of the hotels are running on skeleton staffs and providing very poor upkeep and service. As a businessman, I wonder how these hotels figure they are going to survive a downturn in business by providing a lower level of service to the folks whose return business may be the only thing that keeps them going. All of that being said, The Gainesville Residence Inn is doing exactly what every hotel should be doing. The only reduction in experience is within those things that simply cannot be done during this time. i.e. Breakfast is a "brown bag" affair to avoid a crowded dining area. Otherwise, the service is top-notch, the place is perfectly clean, and in proper repair. If it weren't for the COVID awareness policies, procedures, and signs, you'd never know that anything was different than it would have been in 2019.

A huge error by the hotel. On August 26 my wife and I arrived at the hotel around 5:00PM after driving all day from the Residence Inn in Brentwood, TN. We were assigned room 515 on the quiet side of the building. Upon entering the room we put our bags down, turned on the TV and made a drink to relax after the long trip. It was then that we discovered that the room had not been sanitized nor cleaned after the departure of the previous guests. The bed was made and the room was neat but there was trash in the waste bins and the towels were in disarray. We immediately called the front desk and were reassigned to another room. We are both in our mid 70s and have been doing everything we can to remain safe. The error by the hotel has put our health at risk. An apology by the front desk clerk and an offer of 3,000 points is insufficient. Whats needed is a thorough review of procedures and a renewed commitment to keeping guests safe.
