  Clean room near restaurants and markets in the Dallas 'burbs

  Unfortunately, the hotel is going through a renovation. When we arrived, the lobby was in disarray and they were painting the walls. Fortunately, building B, where we stayed was not impacted. Our suite had a living room and two bedrooms. It was equipped with 3 tvs and two bathrooms. This is ideal for two (non-couple) traveling together. The room overlooks the fenced-in area of the property containing temporary storage. This is where they stored the equipment and materials used for the renovation. Security is good. Each entry requires you to badge in with your hotel card. For some reason, both room cards were deactivated and we had to get replacement cards. I liked the fact that the air conditioning units are located outside. This makes for a quieter and better in-room experience. The beds were comfortable and the shower worked fine. Breakfast was ok. They had chafing dishes with scrambled eggs, pork sausage and pancakes. A waffle maker was available for fresh-baked waffles. The property is in the residential area of north Dallas and filled with lots of restaurants, banks, and markets. Last evening we ate at a popular burger joint, LA Burger, located less than a mile away.

  Business Travel

  I come to the Richardson/Dallas TX area quite frequently for business and staying here is very comfortably. Most of the rooms have been renovated and the look and feel is awesome. Anthony at the front desk wants his guest to be comfortable and well cared for. The Hapy Hour has good food and good live music,,, and let's not forget about the breakfast that's included. Overall an awesome place to call home away from home when away on business. I will continue to stay here and I encourage you to do the same.

  Hotel Decor: Akin to a Jail Cell

  Akin to a jail cell. (Review is for one bedroom.) Pros: - Newer property, very clean. - Modern design. - Decently supplied kitchen with cook-top, full-size refrigerator, pots, pans, plates, etc. - GIANT television in the living space. - You can hook up your Amazon Firestick or other HDMI device to the TV with minimal effort. - Lots of work space: a desk that's 12+ feet long. - Check-in staff were moderately friendly and informative. (I'll be glad for post-COVID to get rid of the plastic screens...) Cons: - One of the worst interior designs, especially for an extended stay. - Walls are stark white, carpet dark gray with a cold dark aqua blue tint. - Only a couch in the living space. No coffee table to put your feet up on, no side chair to relax in. - Lamps awkwardly placed and cast a global cold light, not a warm focused light. - Light bulbs tended toward the blue (cold) light spectrum, not the yellow (warm) spectrum. Made the place even more uninviting. - Minimal wall art, such that the stark white walls slap you in the face and are not muted by inviting art. - Desk may be long, but it is narrow. If I were staying for a while and wanted a monitor attached to my laptop, I'd be hard pressed to arrange the monitor and laptop in such a way as to be usable. - In COVID era, minimal service. No room service unless you ask, regardless of how long you stay. You place the trash outside the door. You place the towels in a laundry bag outside the door and have to go get fresh ones, if needed. Summary: As a frequent traveler (I am often on the road 250+ days a year), I know rooms and brands. Marriott is one of the better, but this hotel is an example of how NOT to create a living space. One of the worst furnishing and color schemes I've seen, even for a short term stay. Very uninviting.

  Not good service to guest, many issues in building

  We stayed at Richardson Marriott Residence Inn for months, customer service is really bad specially unprofessional assistant managers attitude at Richardson TX, also rooms service dont clean properly, bathrooms fixtures are very old and falling off, kitchenette is very tiny, few times they shut down water connection for 8-9 hours to fix the connections, water leakage in the hotel few times while stayed, electric power outage few times for long hours, false alarm goes off and sometimes no one at front desk to assist the guest. One people among them are nice but over all service is poor. Card reader radons work no matter how many times they issue new card from front desk. They don't have security camera anywhere. Bed surface is hard and it itches. It has two bedroom with 2 bathroom, one bathroom is so tiny and door touchs the toilet. Mainly it runs by Spanish people. I will never stay at this hotel, will not recommend anyone.
