  Excellent Stay in Every Way

  Great stay. Room was spacious and comfortable. Front desk staff knowledgeable and friendly. Marsh at check-in was especially nice. Fitness Center above average and breakfast was better than most 3 and 4-star hotels that offer free breakfast..how? They had real eggs and they served them fresh!!

  Not Quite Up to Marriott Standards

  We stayed at the Residence Inn Killeen in February 2020. We chose this hotel because the location was good and they had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite, helpful when travel with an extra adult. The layout of the suite was nice, bedrooms are separated by the living room, so there is quite a bit of privacy. The overall condition of the hotel was somewhat disappointing. It's obvious the facility is old and in need of an upgrade, but some of the issues are basic maintenance. As you can see from the pictures, there were broken tiles, the broken soap dish was in the handicap shower, which could be a big safety hazard, and not overly clean. I have no idea what was going on with the inside of the dishwasher. The couch was in very poor condition. The beds and bedding were pretty nice. The hotel provides breakfast, but the breakfast area is pretty small for the size of hotel and they ran out of some items such as waffle batter. The food was pretty standard hotel breakfast.

  Great stay

  First off, they allowed me to check in early so I could get rest before I went to work, which helped me out a lot! I was amazed on how clean and roomy the room was! Overall I would definitely recommend this place if you need a clean nights rest!!! Sorry forgot to take pictures cause I was real tired!

  Disappointing housekeeping, maintenance

  We stayed for 2 nights and chose Residence Inn for location (close to FT Hood) and for the in room kitchen. The evening of our arrival, we noticed that all of the dishes were in the dishwasher and had not been washed. During our stay, housekeeping did not clean the room, change the sheets, replace the towels. During the second night, the power went out in our room. The switches in the fuse box had to be slammed off and on 2 times to get them to stay in the on position. The staff was polite but is clearly poorly supported by general management and/or the franchise holder. Im a lifetime Platinum with Marriott and while Ill likely be spending a great deal of time in the area over the next year or so. But I will not be returning to the Residence Inn in Killeen, TX.

  Disappointing/Tired and Sad Place to Stay

  I like Marriott properties and Residence Inns are usually far better experiences than the one I had in Killeen. This hotel has a worn feeling. I arrived and was told I was being upgraded to a 2 BR/2BA unit. I am a solo business traveler, so it wasn't like I needed more room. I was put in to a 1st floor "accessible" suite. The main BR smelled unclean and the bathroom has a locker room.smell to it. The housekeeping person left used rags in the room. I was able to close it off and lucky for me I was upgraded and was fine in the 2nd BR which had its own BA. The lighting was exposed fluorescent tubes and the other light could only be turned off by unscrewing the light bulbs. There was no place to work as a business traveler unless you worked at the table under the strange lighting. When I complained to the front desk, the manager had left, and couldn't help me. Told me to try back tomorrow. Really? Tried but it wasn't worth any more of my time. Breakfast was scrappy and their cocktail hour was inedible. I did have a beer. All around, just an unfortunate trip. Avoid if you can.
