Outstanding hotel and serviceWe stayed here on business for two nights. We ended up experiencing both the regular suite and the loft suite which was great. The customer service was outstanding, one of the best of Marriotts ever. The woman at check in Sunday night was very helpful, and during our stay Tamieka was extremely helpful with some changes we needed to make. I understood she reviewed those changes with the General Manager as well, and they were most accommodating. The loft suite is huge and very reasonably priced. The hotel is also gated and pet friendly with a nice large designated dog walk area. The hotel is conveniently located to the mall and so much else. Probably the best Residence Inn we have stayed at!

A Unique Residence Inn PropertyThis property is unique in it's design. The building design is more like an apartment house complex instead of a hotel. The layout be reminds me of how a resort or timeshare property would be set up. Please note: you may be required to climb stairs as there was not an elevator to get to the lower levels, to the street level or to the main building. I love how spacious our studio accommodations were and we had everything been needed to include a toaster, dishes, dishwasher and the microwave cooks as well. The breakfast options were good and included fresh spinach, granola, soft tortillas and turkey sausage in addition to pork sausage. There is an outdoor pool on property, outdoor grills and sitting benches on property (centered lower level). Gym is not necessarily big; however, I did not utilize it. The Battery area is ideal for the Cobb Galleria Center and the Mall. This is a pretty upscale area so many of the eateries are two $$ signs and up. We did find an Applebee's in the area and it was pretty good! I would stay again because the stay was very enjoyable. Staff was pleasant and helpful and the only thing I did not like was the $10 parking fee but I did know that in advance of booking.

Baseball TourneyThis is our 2nd year staying at this location for the WWBA tourney held at East Cobb. We were residents for 6 days. This location is close to everything. Groceries, gas and many restaurants, and only a few blocks from The Battery. Staff was pleasant and check in was quick. The rooms itself could use some updating. We rented the penthouse suite. The couch wasnt overly comfortable and the chair was less comfortable than the couch. The bathrooms were clean and the kitchen was also clean. Kitchen has everything we needed. A/C worked well and kept the unit cool all week long. Landscaping needs some attention, but overall a decent hotel complex. Laundry on site (quarter operated) which is very helpful when traveling for baseball. One of the evenings we were there, a group of non residents showed up and took over the entire pool and patio area. Smoking weed, foul language and a large group at that. Riding mini motorcycles thru the area and overall very disrespectful. Management didnt seem to mind as they ran in and out of the main area many times. The hotel complex smelled like marijuana for several days in a row following this evening. We will not be returning to this location for that very reason.

Nope nope nopeThis is a sad property that is badly in need of some TLC. While the rooms were big and the wifi worked well, the rooms themselves were on the dirty side, the bathrooms were so incredibly small with the light fixtures on the outside so that the lights wake your partner when turned on, and the a/c doesn't work well nor does the incredibly squeaky fan over the bed. I was traveling with my dog and while this is deemed a "pet friendly hotel", there is only one grassy area on the whole property where dogs are allowed to go potty and it's very littered with cigarette butts, other dog poop, and garbage. Also, I was charged a non refundable $100 pet fee which is ridiculously high for allowing your pet to stay on the property. Also, the woman who checked us in was NOT wearing a mask which defies the Marriott policy. Will absolutely not stay here again.

Absolutely Terrible- No Sleep, Noise, Late Night Parties, No Security, Poor Staff Service but Nice HousekeepersThis is the worst hotel Ive ever stayed at in my life of 60 years! I could mention many things, but Ill limit myself to the most important. The number one requirement for hotel stays is a good nights rest. I didnt get even one good nights rest in 17 nights of being here! In a nutshell, numerous people at all hours of day and night, party, talk loudly or yell in the parking lots without regard for anyone else. Many of these people dont seem to even be guests here. Theyre either coming to party in the rooms or outside, smoking more than cigarettes. I called the front desk numerous times. I never saw any hotel staff ever come to the area around my room. I think all they did was call the offending room, which solved nothing. There is no security presence on property at all. On my last night there, I called several times due to noise in the next room starting at 10:30PM until midnight. Nothing happened. I had an early flight so really needed sleep. At 3AM the front desk called ME and said I needed to stop making noise! I told the young lady I was trying to sleep and was, in fact, one of the people calling about the noise. She hung up on me without offering any apology or resolution. At 4AM, the Smyrna Police Department arrived and pounded on the offending rooms door announcing themselves. It became magically quiet, but the police indicated they would get a key, upon which the people came out. They apologized and made excuses about their children playing because the Dad just got off of work. The police handled it well and gave them a chance because apparently they had cursed out the manager on the phone, who wanted them evicted. Why they were not sleeping at that early morning time with children makes no sense to me. The property looks like it was an old apartment complex. The buildings are in disrepair, my main window would not fully close despite maintenance supposedly fixing it, the walls are thin enough to hear every neighbor talking, the stairs (no elevators) are not solid enough to prevent vibration whenever someone walked up or down. On arriving I asked why I couldnt do a mobile check-in? The front desk clerk said that wasnt something they offered. It appeared she didnt have a room ready and seemed flustered. I asked for some water. Despite being Titanium Elite for Life, the front desk clerk said they were out of water! I couldnt believe it. A few minutes later the manager told her to give me staff water. I asked what that was and was told it was the cheaper water that they dont give guests, only staff. This is one of the most ridiculous things Ive ever heard. I just wanted any kind of water since I was thirsty from a long day of traveling. I then asked for the quietest room they had because I would be working nearby both early and late hours. And that was in my profile, which she had access to. She kept offering me bottom floors and said no upgrade was available. Really? There were so many Titanium Elite guests that she had no top floor rooms? The room I got, 323, was on the second floor, with a room overhead, right next to exactly what I wanted to avoid: a major street called Cumberland Blvd SE. It was busy from about 5AM until after midnight, with many, many cars during rush hours. Generally the staff didnt really care about noise or problems. They would apologize but do nothing. Maybe they had no authority or ability? The only positive thing I can say is that housekeepers were very nice and did a great job. This hotel is an embarrassment to Marriott, and besmirches their good name. To be associated with this facility reflects poorly on the Residence Inn brand, and Marriotts connection to it. Ive enjoyed the entire range of Marriott properties. Never have I experienced so much noise, so many problems, and a lack of concern by staff.
