    Reception Terrible. Rooms a Lottery

We booked 2 families through @crystalski in to 2 type E apartments (sleep 4-6!), one family had 2 adults and one teenage child, the second family had 2 adults and 2 teenage children. One apartment had a double room with en-suite shower room, an alcove with bunk beds, separate toilet and bathroom but only room for 4 in the dining area. 2nd room only had a double room, separate room with bunk beds, one toilet (no sink) and one bath/shower but could accommodate 6 round the dining table so please specify when booking which type of apartment you want! Also worth mentioning we booked as a party of 7 but the rooms were 4 floors apart. The reception was useless! Only open a few hours a day, we arrived at 13:30 local time but reception didnt open until 16:30 so we had to leave all our baggage (and latterly ski hire equipment) at another hotel until we could check in. Most hotels in our complex were linked via an underground car park which meant a steep walk with baggage after bus drop off point. Ok with teenage children but wouldnt want to do it with toddlers or infants. Bakery service bookable through reception but had to be done daily even if order was the same each day, again only after 16:30. Collection was after 08:00 when reception opened. We also asked reception to book a table at a local hotel (Auberge de Balcons) for our last night, firstly we were told the restaurant was closed but they would book for us as soon as it was open and confirm reservation. No confirmation so we went back to reception next day when we were told the time had to be brought forward half an hour which we accepted. We checked again at reception the day we were booked in and were told it was all booked. Needless to say on arrival at the restaurant they were fully booked without a reservation for us (because our hotel hadnt confirmed our reservation). Most restaurants are full most nights, luckily we found a place called K2 who were very accommodating and managed to squeeze us in despite having a private function on, food was great so maybe a blessing. All in all a great resort and great skiing, would like to come back but definately not to same hotel. Crystal need to up their standards and only offer top quality accommodation for the prices they charge. We advised Crystal of our issues which are being dealt with so Ill update with a response if indeed we get one.

    Place to be !

MMV Centaure is a perfect place to stay when you want to have a skivacation in Paradiski. The view on the mountains and the access to the slopes is excellent. The apartment has everything what you need. The service is oke, but if you could get your order from the bakery from 7 am in stead of 8 am it would be perfect!

Room was great, staff good as long as you don't have a legitimate accident

We travelled to Belle Plagne the year before (staying at Les Balcons), but decided to stay at a different hotel. Before you come to any conclusions we travelled in Feb and writing the review in May so doing this with a clear head... When you arrive by bus to Belle Plagne, you can see the hotel from the car park but it is not apparent as to how and actually get to the hotel, and was difficult to try and find the access to the hotel reception (which is actually at the back of the hotel about 4 floors up; with very few signs. One thing to note is the reception times which shuts during the day and several times was not open when it was supposed to be which was a bit infuriating and I know other residents felt the same. When we arrived at reception we were pleasantly greeted by the staff and provided all the rudimentary info etc. Last year we had to pay a £100 deposit for ourroom at a differing hotel (which was not taken off the card), but at this hotel they wanted £400; which I found very odd, but as said it was not taken from the card. One thing that I was not happy about was that even though we had access to the pool and spa, we only had 3 free entries to the spa and from there on it was on an hourly rate of about 7Euro's (Les Balcons was Free and could stay as long as you liked). I felt the pool was a little disappointing but it was clean so this was more of personal preference. Arriving at the apartment we were actually pleasantly surprised as we had been upgraded and the rooms were very spacious and very clean and did not having anything to complain about. Not sure how big our original room would have been. To get to the boot room you had to go outside to access (only 20 ft or so) which was not a problem but the boot room felt very damp and a few days my boots were still damp in the morning. Judging again last year (at Les Balcons) the lockers were vented and had racks for the boots to be placed at an angle to make sure the boots were nice and dry, so for MMV was not a fan of the boot room. From there however, it is only about 50 yards from the slope, which if you are a true beginner is a pretty substantial hill so would not recommend from that standpoint. The low point of the holiday was the straw that broke the camels back though and I felt really summed up this hotels attitude, which up until then had been excellent. One night we left for dinner and right next to the room door there is a curtain (to hide vacuum cleaner, brushes etc), and as my wife closed the door the curtain got accidentally caught in the door, jamming a deadbolt. We notified reception immediately and a handy man came to look but could not fix and so a locksmith had to be called. As it was late in the evening and the locksmith could not come till the next day the hotel had to move us to another room which the did without issue or hesitance. Next morning the locksmith came and had to enter the room through the next rooms veranda and remove the locks from there and after a few hours we were back in. What was a surprise to me was the 197Euro bill. Yes you are reading that right the 197 Euro bill. I am sure there are a few of you there saying well you did have to get a locksmith, but this was complete accident and something which I still think was not our fault. Anyway the reduced the bill to about 150Euro and forced me to pay or they would take the full £400 deposit. My own insurance told me not to pay as this should be covered under the hotels own insurance as it was not like general breakages covered under normal room insurance. So in summary I had to pay the bill and wrote a letter of complaint to head office in which they took over 6 weeks to respond with a response off, "this was settled locally with the hotel". What was more annoying was that the handy man had told me that this has happened several times in the past. So in summary they know there is a problem here and when the issue occurs they slap you with a hefty bill. SHAME ON YOU. Good Points: Rooms were very Clean Staff very helpful Bad Points: Difficult to find reception Reception closes intra-day and several times 60-90 minutes late in opening in morning (not good when picking up breakfast bread) Really Damp Boot room Pool a bit disappointing (personal preference) Having to pay for the Spa (which is not cheap) If there is a genuine problem, you are on your own!

    Perfectly reasonable

First time here having stayed at Nereides last year. The walk from the coach drop is long and uphill but you only have to do it once. Managed to get in the room fairly early which was a nice surprise. The room itself was OK but fairly small. We had a room for 6 but there were only 4 of us. Nowhere near enough room for clothes - only one area to hang anything and our boys had nowhere to hang or put clothes. Lounge was nice and reasonably spacious with a great view of the mountains. The location is a little fiddly to get to from the slopes but its doable or you just walk from the main drag. Not a bad place and one of the better ones in Belle Plagne.

Lovely apartment in Belle Plagne (and ski in / ski out)

We booked an apartment for 4 people and when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised! We had a double bed in one room, bunks in another room and sofa bed in the living area sleeping 6 people so there was plenty of room for us. The eating area sat 6 people and there was plenty of extra chairs, which was great for us as we had 7 friends in other apartments who were able to come over to ours for games and drinks. I think the apartment had been refurbished too as it was pretty modern. Whilst we stayed there the boot room was closed for refurbishment or something, this might have caused problems for some people but we usually like to take our boots back to our apartment as we have boot dryers anyway so it didnt bother us! The spa/ pool area was nice, I didnt use it much but it was very clean the times I did use it, they provide towels too which is good and hot and cold drinks. The location of the apartment is about a 5 minute walk from the centre of belle plagne but for skiing it is ski in / ski out. If I was to return to belle plagne I would return to this apartment block!
