A true homeI come here every year for one week as it is definitely one of my favourite places! The residence is a place that can really make me feel at Home! It can host me and my boyfriend and up to 4 friends of us eventually :) and we can really live like locals! It is incredibly well placed, close enough to 3 of the best ski resorts in Italy. I definitely suggest trying Obereggen, Cermis and Sellaronda! It is the beginning of march now, and Cavalese town welcomed us with an amazing fair in occasion of the world ski championships awards, taking place in the central sq. There was plenty of beer, local food and local wine and hand made stuff!! Nevertheless, we love to cook in the residence, watch some tv in the house, chat and get ready for the ski time! I generally forget I even have a job after 3 days ;) The manager left us his cell phone number soon, so as we can kindly ask him to prepare a free after ski sauna in the residence if we want to! Awesome tradition!! I bring my own linen and towels every year, I make my own bed and use the kitchen as if it was mine for 1 great week, just as if it was my hom., I would never change it, even for a 5 stars hotel! I would truly recommend this residence.

great location for winter skiingThis property is getting a little old BUT everything works, the staff are friendly and any problems they handle immediately. The apartments are again looking a little out of date but they are spotlessly clean, and I mean spotlessly! The location is fantastic with breathtaking views and close to the beautiful old town of Cavalese. Lots of restaurants nearby, but you´ll want to have a car. The local supermarket is also close and has a very good range of fresh fruit, vegetables, meats and fresh bread as well as all the usual supermarket products. You can see the slopes of Alpe Cermis from this location just accross the valley. It is big enough but just 15 minutes drive away is some of the best Skiing in Europe in Pampeago. You only need one lift ticket to ski these 2 resorts (2 more resorts just down the road are also included on this one lift ticket so there are many options). We had a fantastic week skiing this area and Casa Cavalese was a great base to stay in.

Great hosts but basic facilitiesThe hosts, Diego and Natalia are wonderful. Really enjoyed the Sunday afternoon cocktail party and the dinner they cooked on Wednesday evening showcasing local produce. The sleeping arrangements are comfortable and there is a full kitchen equipped with oven and hot plates, crockery and pots. Note that there are restrictions on the power output and you are limited to using 2 x hot plates or oven & 1 x hot plate so that the power is not overloaded. Also be aware that other than bedding, towels and some soap, there is nothing provided! No dish washing liquid, no sponge for doing dishes, no sugar, no salt, no coffee, nothing. Its not a problem if you know in advance, but we had no prior warning and arriving in the evening to a small village where everything is closed, was not ideal. However - beautiful village and great location.

CASA CAVALESEOffseason in the Dolomites is absolutely fantastic. I almost regret reviewing the property because I don't want it discovered, but others need to experience Casa Cavalese and this area of Italy. The scenery is breathtaking and the people there are friendly and anxious to help. Local wine is good and the pizza across the street from the main church in town is to die for.

Beautiful area, but you're on your own!The unit was in good condition and was roomy for 3 people. Nice little kitchen, adequately supplied. The office manager has very brief hours and days and does not speak English well. The amenities are minimal in that there is no Wifi in the rooms, there is no A/C, and the laundry facilities are locked up and we never found the manager to let us in to use the machines. We arrived on Saturday night and had difficulty finding a grocery open on Sunday. Cavalese itself is a lovely town. We also enjoyed visiting Bolzano and Verona.
