    Somewhere between poor and average

Having been on a Coach Tour and seen all the other Hotels it picked up from, can definately say this is at the Poor end of the market. Others have big bright receptions, this was dark and dingy, they had english / french speaking staff, the male I encountered spoke no english just grunted a few times (despite advertised as english/french staff 24/7), all the others have gates and security on, this had a dim unlit walk way off of a side street (not inviting at 3am when we arrived with people lingering outside pestering you at that time). had to knock door locked (24hr reception!?) as staff asleep on sofa inside. I went half board - big mistake, there is NO choice and nothing for vegetarians (though I am not). Breakfast always croissant, bread, jam and a boiled egg (hot or cold depending on how late after the 630am start you ate). Coffee was exceeding strong and luke warm, tea was green or mint.Strangley also a glass of fizzy orange for breakfast. Evening meal, no choice again, all just given to you ready plated up, no drinks, not even water even available to buy, had to bring your own. The small "restaurant" was very hot and stuffy) Starters included a burnt brik (pastry with potato in) a salad mainly tomato with lettuce and a cucumber salad. Mains were a very small piece of chicken (poss thigh), a very small fish and a piece of undercooked what I believed to be Pork. Each come with two carb foods ie chips and pasta, or rice and potatoes, oh and bread. Dessert was a few pieces of melon one day with a few grapes the next with some orange. The food is definately not 3 star, not the variety, choice or quality, they were very small portions and didnt fill me up once. neither is the hotel 3 star, I dont know if I just got a bad room but the bathroom window couldnt be opened as it was broken and held shut (well 2-3" flapping) with wire connected to the outside and inside handle. The main sliding doors didnt lock - either of them, the TV (3 tunisian chanels only) couldnt get a proper signal, one light bulb was out. The floor was not swept of sand once during the week, and the maid took the towels at about 11am and didnt replace until about 3pm so no good if you wanted a wash / change / shower or hand dry. The sheets were changed regularly though. Wifi worked downstairs and in the restaurant but not on the 4th/5th floor I found. The fridge was useful for water and the foodstuffs I ended up buying for breakfast after a few days. Food in the bar/cafe area of the Hotel was cheap enough however was full of locals (men) and very uncomfortable trying to eat there having comments made and them staring at you trying to talk to you and be smarmy while you ate/drank. The beach was about 20 metres from the front door which was great for nipping out in the day, the sunbeds with covers were 3tn a day (about £1) could come and go as you liked they kept your bed and looked after your stuff if you swam very good) however at night kids/people were on the beach noisy until 2 or 3 am then by 5am people playing football on the beach noisy every day. Very good views from the room across the bay and the sea very nice, unfortunately no balcony to sit and enjoy it from just french windows. I wouldnt reccommend this end of Sousse, not much going on, too out of the way, mostly locals who mither you all the time, follow you around, during a 10 minute walk along the prom at about 9pm at night, the same bloke appeared 4 times from different places asking personal questions and being told politely "no" and to "go away please", in the end I gave him some english which he understood!!! Does not make for a relaxing holiday- they are persistent even when told to leave you alone. I make a point of not going into any shop where people hassle you to go in and follow you up the road, and No I dont want to tell various vagabonds what hotel Im at, what my name is and no I dont want to go for a drink with anyone who accosts me in the street (some people must really be mugs and easy to dupe if this works!) I would probably compare this to a cheap hostel, the Hotels I saw in the other part of Sousse looked very good and from speaking to people on the coach trips lots of food choices, swimming pools, spas, shops, safe environment etc....not here Im afraid. Personally I wont be staying here again, or this part of Tunisia, the hotel was an average 2 star at best in my opinion. However, if you do find yourself up this way go to L'Escargot (Avenue Corniche) excellent restaurant a bit more than the average price but more than worth it. Oh, if you like skinny manky stray cats / dogs also this part of town is for you!! Mind you I did feed them, they ate better than me some days!

    May

We were there (two adults) going for Full Pansia (breakfast, lunch, dinner). First off all, in the moment we were there, situation in the Tunisia was kinda tricky, if we speaking about global safety, and it was time of the Ramadan (just Google it). Location is very good, very close to the city centre where all life is going on, sea is across the street, the beach is nice and simple. Food was always cold, the taste was quite okay, maybe, if the food was warm, it could be real nice. There's is no extras for this hotel, it's old, but clean, with nice view to te sea. It's only for the stay per night, not for the summer chill. No outside pools, but inside pool was not working at all.
