Great time spent in IsraelVery nice hotel, all the rooms have marvelous sea view, with small kitchen that contains all necessary items for cooking. Hotel has ideal location - close to center, in front of beach elevator and at the same time in the quite place. The breakfast was good and staff was excellent (personal thanks to Svetlana on reception who is very attentive)

An excellent choice for a small hotel on the beachThe Residence Beach exceeded my expectations based on reviews I read. Check in was efficient and pleasant. Note to foreign travelers, save that little blue slip you get at passport control because youll need it with your passport at check in to save on the Israeli Tax, for which you get a refund when you leave the country (its 16 or 17%). I traveled with a female friend and we had them quickly separate the beds with a nightstand between them. Our balcony overlooked the sea and was a delight, especially watching the sunset. The reviews were not positive about breakfast, we were there on Shabbat when food service is necessarily curtailed everywhere, and I was very pleased with the variety of the breakfast, it was more than ample. We opted for lunch on Shabbat and were told we could arrive at 2:30 and stay until 3, even though the information states that lunch ends at 2:00. We arrived at 2:15 to find the food almost gone and the wait staff reluctant to serve us, although more food was eventually brought out for us, and several others were also given the later arrival time and came after us. There was some miscommunication there, best to stick to the written time. Their sister hotel, the Galil, has the pool, they say a 15 minute walk, more like a half hour, but a pleasant stroll along the paved promenade along the sea. The Galil is definitely a family hotel and while the pool was nice it was heavily used and full of families with small children. As a committed lap swimmer I managed swimming the width of the pool in the deep end and got my exercise that way. A plus for the hotel was a small kitchenette behind doors at the entrance to the room, with a good sized refrigerator, a sink, a kettle and 2 electric burners, along with utensils. There were two things that prevented 5 stars, the water in the shower initially ran brown, and then ran dirty, that should have been checked by management or housekeeping. And on Shabbat we used the stairs since we were on a low floor and the Shabbat elevators everywhere are very slow. Once the exit into the lobby was blocked by a large and heavy table top that was hard for me to move out of the way. We enjoyed being at the beach and having right next to the hotel what they call the beach elevator as an option to the stairs down to the beach. No hotel was right on the water, all are elevated above the sea and along the promenade or away from the sea. I would definitely go there again.

Not bad, not greatFirst the good news: The hotel location is great, right on the cliffs above the sea. Bad news: Old renovated hotel that needs further renovation and no real parking. The check in was in building A next to building B, where our room was. So we parked illegally for 10 minutes while I checked in and then I looked for municipal parking as close to the hotel I could find. The clerk (who was very nice and professional, named "Svetlana"), said that the parking was full and we could park for "free" anywhere along the hotel road. It was hot and this was a royal pain in the rear but I did eventually find parking. I usually have two scales for comparison with Israeli hotels: One is an international standard for quality and price and then the Israeli scale. The bottom line is value for money. Israeli hotels are over priced across the board so if I judge this hotel by Israeli standards it was "reasonable yet expensive" and it passes the test yet with a feeling that you may have paid more than you should have for this property. By the Israeli scale it gets a 3 star rating. On an international scale this hotel was "OK" but overpriced and it gets a 2 star rating with a 3.8 star price, that is, over priced. Again, the main thing going for this hotel is location. There is also an elevator outside on the promenade that takes you down to the beach front and this was fantastic. The room was clean, the facilities aged. We got a "suite" so it was quite roomy. I also asked for a corner room with a balcony as high up as possible and got the corner but not the height. Still it was fine. The sea breeze was fantastic but throughout the night there were roving bands of kids making noise. I could have closed the windows and turned on the A/C but I choose the sea breeze over complete quiet. Breakfast was just fine and there was an assortment of dishes to choose from. Overall, this place just passes due to it's location but I probably will not return to it again. If it would have cost ~120-140 USD then it would have been much better but at 170 USD it is too much.

Return stay. This was our family's third time at Residence Beach/once at sister hotel Residence. Once again it didn't disappoint. Rooms are a good size and kept clean, with plenty of fresh towels and kitchen area is adequate for holiday needs. Dining rooms have a good food selection. Hotel staff are generally friendly and helpful. The hotel has great balcony views of the coastline and it's beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear sea, with a beach lift next to hotel. Free beach towels, sun loungers, beach chairs and sun umbrellas are available every day other than Shabbat. Some of Netanya's pedestrianised area with restaurants, shops, etc is within a ten minute flat stroll away, which is great for those with walking difficulties or wheelchair users. This is a great place to return to and centrally placed for travelling around Israel. Hopefully see you next year Residence Beach.
