  Food review

  I today visited the restaurant with three friends. The decor is breath taking. We were welcomed by the most friendly and polite staff. We all ordered the whole chicken meal, this did not disappoint! The meal is huge and you are served a whole chicken, vegetables and potatoes with a bread basket! It is to die for! I am so sad that I am only on holiday visiting a friend and I will not get to enjoy this place on a regular basis!! You MUST go if you are in Tianjin!!! You will not be disappointed!! Enjoy

  Excellent hotel, revisited and found some significant changes

  It has been a while since I have visited this hotel for the first time. Back then I was not too happy with the substandard service. However, since my first review this place went through major changes, partly because of my review. The general manager has done a great job to address issues related to service attitude among the staff. While this hotel was an OK place before, now it is one of the top places measured by the friendliness and service attitude of its people. Charlie from the breakfast restaurant is probably one of the very best, knowing you by name and being always very friendly and very helpful, really great, many thanks! The front desk has good people too, Kaitlyn, Cherry, Snow and Michael Wang never failed to impress with their professionalism, many thanks for their help to resolve a complicated issue I had with receiving an international parcel. My lounge experience has improved too since staff there appears now to be much friendlier and to display care towards customers. I hope they can keep up this great job in the long run and not only towards me but towards all customers. In the end, people are what make a hotel a great hotel and this hotel succeeded to motivate its people to become a great place.

  Club lounge

  Its my first time to come to club lounge , lounge girls Wendy and Fiona ,have always warm greeting with me everyday they know me very well . Thank you for them all,and take good care for me every time.

  Nice Hotel - Helpful and Friendly Staff

  Stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip. Very comfortable room offered a good nights sleep. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and did their best to make the stay comfortable. A slight problem with a car booking when leaving for the airport but this was quickly resolved so I wouldnt mark down for that. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay here again if I am staying in the area. Only slight issue was the smell of smoke in the room but it wasnt enough to me a major problem.

  Nice hotel, but didnt like the location.

  I was very disappointed with the location of this hotel. As Tianjin hotels were fully booked for this week, our company agency said I should go to the renaissance hotel. I thought it would be in Tianjin, as the address says that, but its actually 45 minutes east of the airport in Binhai, and it is in an industrial area with nothing else close by within walking distance ( or if there was we could not see it in the dark). We passed shops and restaurants on the way to the hotel but they were too far to walk to in the dark. The hotel itself is very nice and very friendly staff. The evening meal in the brasserie was either buffet ( not too bad) or a la carte ( not great). The a la carte main meal gave me the impression it had been stored pre cooked and reheated again. The buffet was much better and fresher. Breakfast was very busy and chaotic as usual. Maintaining your place when going to choose more food was a challenge as it is free seating I.e. you dont get shown to a seat where the staff know you are now occupying, so you run the risk that someone will take your place. The room was nice, but not too big. The bed was ok, but the pillows were poor. The room was very noisy, especially with noise coming from the room on the floor above. Floors were banging significantly. The worst feature of the room was the heating , or in fact cooling. It was too hot and was maintaining 25 degrees , even if you set 18. It only made the fan turn faster with more noise but the temperature never decreased in 2 days.
