    not for couples

Resort is nice, family friendly, private beach, outdoor pool, numerous dining options, fish, turtles and dophins and parrots, kookaburras. Theres a ton to do here. Indoor pool is for kids with indoor slide. gym is decent. Dining is ok. What you would expect for hotel dining. Service is good. Free laundry room. Lots of kids. parking available. Can also book water sports. Rooms with double beds are rare. as a couple we were 'upgraded' to a room with 3 single beds in the room. Dont expect the frills its a decent hotel family orientated and no need to leave the resort unless you want better adventure and better food options. 4 options of breakfast places. Great place for families but pricey side.

    Good for family

The property is a bit dated but overall really nice. There are many things to do for families. Note that it is quite a distance from the airport. The lobby has exotic birds, there is an indoor kiddie pool, nice beach to walk to. We enjoyed both a boat tour and and wonderful snorkeling.

    Kids' friendly hotel

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel with our 3 years old kid. The facilities are great, private beach, indoor pool, outdoor pool, onsen etc. The highlight of this hotel must be the dolphin experience. By joining the dolphin program (with cost), you will be able to touch and play with dolphin. We also joined different boat trips to explore the sea. We stayed over 3 nights hence we were granted with the savvy club membership which allow us to have free lunch and enjoy a number of facilities for free or at discounted price. This hotel is super kids' friendly. In the kids welcome pack, the kids can enjoy playing games with the hotel staff to win a present. Young kids like mine are able to find a number of activities to join. The kids splash area is one of the best site to visit for young kids. Even some staffs might not be able to communicate well in English, they have tried their best to communicate and help us along our stay. They were very kind and friendly. The hotel area and the facilities are very clean and tidy, which is one of the big plus for kids to play. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit old, especially the room. The furnitures are very old fashioned and the lift area at room floor is a bit spooky due to the old fashioned settings. Looking forward to visit again after the rennovation.

    Great Experience and Memorable Night

Stayed for a night to celebrate our anniversary. Enjoyed my stay and had a spectacular view of the ocean. Tried the Four Seasons for dinner, only had buffet style option vice the course menu. Appetizers and desert options were good and the duck and steak entree were delicious. Hotel staff were extremely polite as well as helpful in helping me set up my anniversary and making it special for my engagement. Went beyond my expectations and grateful to the hotel manager and staff for assisting me. Four seasons receptionists seemed cold-faced and like they didnt want to be there, but everyone else was very pleasant nonetheless. Stayed on the 10th floor, and the room was spacious and clean. The bathroom however did not match the quality of the room and showed it was developed a long time ago, but clean otherwise. Did not try the activities or other restaurants the resort had to offer since it was just one night but there were multiple pools for kids, different restaurant options, animal activities, and of course the private beach. Definitely a hotel tailored to show a good time for families and kids.

    Updated but Terrible

Many reviews were obviously written before the hotel was renovated. The updates are beautiful, in the lobby, first floor dining, and guest rooms. They really did a great job. I cant say enough good things about the interior of the hotel. But thats where it ends. - Im not a huge PETA or animal rights person, but the treatment of animals at this hotel was sickening. Dolphins are in very small and shallow pens. Its also alleged that the dolphins came from the Taiji dolphin hunt. The seals, wallaby, and kangaroo were kept in the smallest pens Ive ever seen. They looks so depressed and were not active (but really there was no space for them to be active). The whole thing was atrocious. Im sure that they will say that they have veterinarians and their facility is probably licensed, and that might be true but the whole thing is so obviously bad when you see it. Its disappointing that Marriott corporate allows this hotel to do this to these animals. -The Lounge only seats about 20 people, which means its usually full and you cant get a seat. They will take your name and you can go back to your room to wait for a call when there is space... which is pointless. There was no real perk to being Marriott Platinum, except for breakfast. - There was no waitstaff service at the beach or pool. So you wont be sipping a pina colada on the beach. The beach and pool loungers are also poor quality. The pool deck needs a redesign and resurfacing. - They nickel and dime you to death in this place. Every activity is at a cost. Even using a beach towel will cost you a ¥100. While that is not much, its just crazy that you have to pay. - This is the first beach hotel Ive been to in Asia where they prohibit tattoos. They must be covered to access the beach and pool. - The hotel is too big for three elevators. There was always a long wait for the elevator. - There isnt a proper hotel bar. We tried to get a drink at the bar in the Four Seasons restaurant, but the space was dated and the staff were also serving the restaurant. There was no bar with a bartender, where you could get a drink. I dont know if this is because of COVID-19 or not. - Even with the major update of the rooms and lobby, certain parts of the hotel have not been updated. The second floor restaurants have not been renovated, neither have the outdoor areas. Perhaps this is coming next? COVID-19 Measures: - masks are required throughout the resort. - restaurant hours have been shortened, if you arrive late from the airport there is nowhere to eat after 9. - they are still offering buffets, you just have to wear gloves to serve yourself. -hand sanitizer available everywhere - restaurant tables are spread further apart.
