    Attempting to be more than it is.

    Here is what I did not like about this hotel: 1. Room was small, especially the bathroom. Think NY, London, Paris small. 2. Their pantry was woefully understocked. Not enough things to make it worthwhile. 3. Room service consists of someone delivering your food to your room in a paper bag. No plates, glasses or silverware. 4. The food selection, whether room service or restaurant, was more pretentious than good. 5. The room had no comfortable seating, partially because the room was so small. It was a clean hotel and the staff were all quite pleasant and helpful.

    Amazing hotel and Great staff

    I Just recently stayed at the renaissance hotel des Moines this past weekend and my stay was exceptional. The staff at the hotel are very friendly, accommodating and quick to resolve any issues that arise. I was here for 5 nights and was lucky to be upgraded to their 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite on the highest floor where the lounge is since i am a Titanium elite bonvoy member. They do take care of their elite members well at this hotel. Both my room and living room had an amazing view as i could see the capital building which was amazing. The bathrooms are kinda small however. So if you are muscular and big like myself, be prepared for that. During my stay i did have some service issues with dry cleaning and towel requests via the Marriott app but it was resolved and taken care of by the Director of room service Lindsay and the General Manager Michael V. Both Lindsay and Michael sprung into action and made sure my situation was handled properly and resolved appropriately. Their actions show they care about their guests at the hotel. My friends and i visited their restaurant a few times and the staff there too was amazing. The chef at the hotel too was great. He was a great guy and great chef and made some really delicious food. Overall i was happy with my stay and how everything turned out. I travel a lot and spend over 180+ nights in hotels every year between Marriott, hilton and Hyatt properties and i can say this hotel and staff are ranked pretty high when it comes to customer service.

    Terrible Hotel

    The first room we were assigned had an overwhelming smell of marijuana and cigarettes. We asked to move to a different room which they did for us. As we prepared to go to bed my husband tried to shower, but there was zero hot water after running it for more than 20 minutes, and there was dried semen on the headboard. Never again would we stay in this dirty hotel.

    Clean, comfortable and Convenient

    Excellent service from staff. The hotel was clean and tidy. The room was great and the bed was comfortable. I will definitely be coming back to stay at this property again as it was an outstanding stay!

    Great hotel with an even better staff

    I travel often for business and generally stay in Marriott's due to loyalty program. This hotel is one of my favorites in due to a bunch of factors including proximity to restaurants, cleanliness, and overall staff helpfulness. The manger, Michael is awesome and has gone above and beyond what would be considered reasonable requests. Assuming management reads these things please know that guy is a keeper.
