  New apartments but need lots of work.

  We booked this villa because it was new but as soon as we entered we realised how much humidity there was. It was obviously very recently renovated, maybe a rush job as it seemed as though the rendering and paintwork were not given enough time to dry. There was also black mold in some parts of the building. We also unfortunately had very noisy neighbours upstairs and asked to be moved. We were moved to the new part of the villa upstairs and were extremely happy there. I think with a bit more work and eye for detail, this villa would be an exceptional place to stay with a young family.

  Perfect

  Perfect place to stay. Very new and fresh. Everything worked. Nice airco. Close to the beach (rocks). Cheap for what you get. You can use the swimmingpools from the nextdoor hotel and/or the sunbeds from another one or You can have breakfast in a third. Only complaint was about a very unfriendly old receptionist who told us we were not allowed to use the outdoorpool, only the indoor one. (But that was only 1 day, all the other days we only walked in when he was not there.)

  Good room but no cleaning

  We spent a week at Villa Elsa. The reception to check in is not there it is inside the bristol hotel (just cross the road) Reception girl was a bit cold but it was quick to have the keys. Our appartment was the first one near the front door so we were worried about the noise but it was actually quiet. Really big "flat" and amazing bed (200x200). Kitchen furnished (cuttery, fridge, microwave, kettle, sponge...). All flat was clean however as indicated on the reservation no cleaning until check out, which is not necessarely a problem as we can clean after ourselves, however because no cleaning ladies= no new towel for a week and no toilet paper and no bin emptied. We had to go 2 times at the reception for toilet papet which is s bit embarrassing so I understand they dont come to clean but they should in this case, give more paper and towel when arrived. Anyway because villa elsa is part of remisens group we had access to the private beach at hotel bristol (where you do your check in/out) and the private beach and swimming pool of the other hotel (i forgot the nme). You have some space free available or you can pay the car park 5 a day. We parked everyday to the free one however we were innseptember so i assume in summer it might get very busy. Also there is a free car park near the port (4min to walk) So it was very good, lovely little village and really amazing country to visit

  Disappointing

  We stayed one week. Location is very good near the sea and the spacious apartment had a lovely balcony. Unfortunately the rooms had problems with humidity in the walls. The weather was nice and sunny the whole week, so we could ventilate the apartment with fresh air. But the last day when it started raining, we found out why there was a smell of old basement. Clear water was running down the walls and it was dripping from the ceiling. We were offered to move to the neighbouring apartment, which we accepted. But no we are sorry or any other sign of regrets from the staff. Almost 20% of the photos in the add from Hotels.com are from the Excelsior Hotel 100 meters down the street. What a scam! Villa Elsa / Bristol Hotel is not even close to being a 4 star hotel.

  Good new apartmant stay

  Nice new renovaed apartmants (liburnia.hr) moderate price, above the street to center of Lovran, 5min to the various beaches, if you like to walk, you can find hidden ones on the famous path towards Opatija. Lovran - Opatija is more or less one hour walk along the sea. If you want quieter apt., assure that it is not sea view.
