  Just the way a French hotel should be.

  Close to the charming and interesting town of Bergerac but not in its crowded centre. We have visited this hotel twice in the last 2 years and I wanted to get it on TripAdvisor the first time but didn't succeed (probably I'm technologically challenged!). This is an old coaching inn in a pleasant rural situation, with a lovely terrace surrounded by flowers, where you can eat under an umbrella - or go into the restaurant if you prefer. The food is delicious and the couple who run the hotel (and do the cooking) are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and quiet (some face the road but the hotel is up a slope and the windows have double glazing if you need it - we experienced no disturbance). This is a small hotel with no ostentatious trimmings but just real service and quality where it matters. Parking space off the road. If you are visiting Bergerac you will probably want to look in on a winery or two - easy to do from this hotel. The one we visited asked where we were staying and, when we told them, commented that the hotel had "une bonne table". So it has. We hope to stay there again this year. One point: the path up to the hotel entrance is quite steep - we are both over 60 and had no trouble with it, but someone with a mobility problem possibly might.

  Un logis flojo

  La habitación estaba limpia pero todo esta viejo. El baño limpio pero viejo (la bañera sin cortina o mampara). Lo malo es la calefacción que va muy floja. Pasé frio. La comida no está mala, pero es muy básica: ensalada de 1º y de 2º pasta con pollo. El servicio es bueno, pero el hotel es flojo. Cierto es que no es caro.

  Very good value, friendly service

  Found this hotel by chance, and was very pleased. It's inexpensive, the rooms are clean and modern, the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is good and it's biker friendly too! Strongly recommended

  Simple hotel with no frills

  Simple hotel with no frills - clean rooms and bedding. Old-fashioned fittings & fixtures but comfortable. Floors & stairs uneven. Evening meal good value for money with fresh locally supplied food and choice of local wine (we later bought some!): extremely friendly owners.

  Hand made food

  You feel like home, the environment is simple but full of details at the same time (we had lunch outside in the terrace and I do appreciate the garden). The food is surprising, fresh ingredients (the mushroom sauce of my dish was amazing) and well cooked. I appreciate the choice of different fish, in this region that is much meat oriented. If you are in the area, this is a place to try!
