horrible experiencedo not stay at this hotel if you are travelling with small pets. they say that they accept small dogs, and charge extra for each one you bring. I made the mistake of booking this hotel for 2 nights on the weekend of my birthday and was treated in an appalling manner on my first morning, the morning receptionist Guiada (?) literally screamed at me very loudly "NO SIGNORA!!!! NO CANI!!!" I was simply walking through the lobby towards the breakfast hall with my 2 small dogs (I was not planning to go into the breakfast room, only to take a coffee at one of the bistro tables outside of the breakfast hall) when I turned and pointed out that I simply wanted to sit in the lobby to take a coffee, she continued screaming, and the 2nd receptionist also joined in, and all of the staff turned to stare at me as if I were some type of criminal. If they claim to be a pet friendly hotel they should at least make an area available for paying guests to enjoy. If I had not paid in advance I would have left immediately and spent my money at a hotel such as the Augustus that not only accepts people travelling with animals, but treats them with respect. I was also put into perhaps the noisiest room in the hotel, directly opposite the elevator and could not sleep. I was not able to enjoy any of my weekend here having to leave my animals locked in the room, and had to spend most of my time outside of the hotel with them. I also found that every time i returned to my room from being outside, someone had been in there to "tidy up", which i found quite intrusive, and i felt that even in the room i could not relax. Never again.

Great Breakfast!Nice little hotel in Forte dei Marmi. The room was clean and well appointed but the bathroom was VERY small and outdated. However, the breakfast buffet was absolutely divine! Definitely the best breakfast we had during our 12 day trip to Italy.

Charming Family-Run Hotel Located in the Centre of Forte dei Marmi and close to the BeachI stayed at Regina three summers in a row and will definitely stay there again when I am back in Forte dei Marmi. This hotel has something magic about it and makes you feel relaxed and like at home. My first visit was in summer 2014 and it was a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is very elegant and has a particular focus on art and many paintings. When I came back to Regina in summer 2015 I noticed some nice changes at the hotel and found out that Regina was now run by a family who have owned the hotel for generations. The family introduced a lot of changes from 2015 which were all charming. As this hotel is now run by a family, you definitely find great attention to detail, personalized touch, charming atmosphere and high professionalism. The family makes great effort to run the hotel to the best standard - its official rating is 3 stars but the standard of the hotel is definitely 4 stars! The stuff is very nice, professional and friendly and have a lot of respect for privacy of the guests. You feel comfortable at all times. The staff are very happy to answer any questions - from any daily needs to suggestions on what to visit in Tuscany, where to eat and what museums or music festivals to visit. Check-in and check-out days are smooth and easy and guests can ask for a late check out depending on the arrival of new guests. I also found it really useful that having checked out in the morning, I could keep my suitcases until the evening in a small storage room. The hotel even has a special shower room for guests with late departures who would like to spend some time on the beach after the check out. The hotel's common areas and the rooms (I stayed in a few different ones over the three years) are extremely clean and are very-well maintained with a maid service in the morning and follow-up maid service in the afternoon. Rooms have contemporary and traditional décor depending on the room. Rooms have deposit box, special towels for the beach (no need to carry your own ones), TV, free wi-fi, air-conditioner, hair-dryer, sleepers amongst other useful things. I used dry-cleaning services and was very satisfied with the quality. Location of the hotel is great and is very central, you do not even need a bicycle to move around, as it is just 3-5 mins walk from the beaches and just a few moments away from Forte's shops, restaurants, Market square. The hotel has bicycles that guests can rent. There is also a private car park right behind the hotel. There is a garden on the ground floor where kids can play and adults can read or have an aperitivo, a terrace on the 1st floor with several sun beds and also a small pool/bathtub. Breakfast is great, service is very attentive and food variety is very good. There is a garden so when having a meal you have a nice view as the restaurant is partly outside on the nice terrace/veranda. Guests are very international and varied in age. There are families with kids as well as couples and singles the hotel is comfortable for everyone. The hotel also offers full-boards with lunch and dinner especially popular for families with kids although I have never tried it myself. There are many returning guests who love this hotel as much as I do. There is always a night porter (unlike in many other hotels in Italy which lock the main door past 11pm). Majority of hotels in Forte dei Marmi have no private beach. Regina has no private beach either but the staff will recommend you and help arrange sunbeds on the beaches nearby (5min walk) so that is also taken care of upon request. For families with kids, there is a beach 5 min walk from Regina that has a big swimming pool.
