  Highly recommended

  We were basically stranded In Mackay for a few days during the worst floods in 100 years.The man in charge, Aman, was exceptional. He was friendly, courteous, generous, helpful and highly likable. He made our time there much more bearable than expected. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable outside area. Having stayed else where in Mackay, this place was a superb value. Highly recommended.

  Cheep and nasty!!

  I have recently stayed at this resort left horrified after the state of the dirty and unhygienic room, not only that the people they let into the hotel are loud for continuous hours into the night while we where complaining and nothing was done about it. Would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to a family as the pool had not been cleaned and the menu is very over priced for the meals they presented. You could very much so get your moneys worth somewhere else on your travels through Mackay as falsely advertised as $66 but when arrived at the check in the price had changed to $99.

  Dont fall for the BS advertising

  Dont fall for the pics or description online - rooms are old, the fridge is tiny and damaged, one of the two split systems sounds like a freight train, the blinds are missing pieces and need repair, the toilet has issues and the hot water is warm at best. The free WiFi is terrible and the cleaner who serviced the room before we arrived should be fired. The price is outrageous given what we know now - booked in for 5 days and already looking for another hotel after 2 hours. To be fair, the manager was very nice and helpful, but the honest truth is that I would never recommend the place to anyone - regardless of price

  Excellent value for money plus more!

  What a brilliant stay we had at the Reef Resort Mackay Motel, and at excellent value for money (3 nights for $200) - and the few tired tiles were easily over looked after the welcoming and accommodating hospitality at the front desk, and a room full of all that you need, plus some. Don't judge a book by its cover, because inside is excellent value for money, with good old fashioned comfort and space, and enough facilities to make serving up a meal purchased from around the corner at the well stocked, high-end IGA in the microwave, on nice plates with cutlery! A toaster for breakfast, and a decent sized fridge. The bed was great, the casual chairs comfy, plenty of 'lounging' room, plenty of floor space for suitcases, plenty of bench space (in bathroom and in the room), a bathroom that you could swing a cat in, great water pressure and lots of hot water. Yes, it is an older build with some dated tiles, but it was clean, roomy, comfy, and nothing was a problem for the concierge - happily provided me with wine glasses on request. I would highly recommend if you are looking for value for money and not the latest modern slick, slim and tiny one-room overighter that swinging a cat in the room is near impossible, let alone in the modern, slick bathroom with no benchtop space for toiletry bags. You can't go wrong, unless you are a snob wanting the latest and greatest - best go elsewhere and pay three times the price for happiness. On our way home in Brisbane we stayed at a high end hotel at $250 per night, and it was disappointing in comparison to the Reef Resort Mackay!

  Lovely sleep

  Room was clean,tidy, beds were very comfortable. Had all the basic ammenities needed. Service was great. Best rooms in this price range in Mackay so far. Cars are under cover. Bar & meals straight across the road. Resort does have a Restaurant but was closed when we visited.
