Family Xmas Holiday To RememberBoth my family and I enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Redcastle, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in one of their newly renovated suites which was perfect with kids with seperate rooms and space in abundance. The suite was unbelievable and with gifts for the kids on arrival they were more than happy. We were seated at a window table every morning where we were treated to beautiful panaromic views of the coast whilst enjoying one of the nicest breakfasts ive ever had the pleasure of tasting for 3 mornings, compliments to the chef. Thank you to all for a memorable experience, both my family and I will definitely be back.

Could do better for a 4 StarWent here over Christmas. First break we had since Covid19 arrived. It very nearly didn't happen due to third wave. But we went anyway. Expected great things as a) it's a 4star and b) it's Christmas. Positives are staff are friendly if a bit lost at times. It's as if the hotel just used desperate college students to fill the roster. Definitely not trained up to 4star level yet. The location is perfect. Negatives. Where to start? I do realise we are in a pandemic, things are different now. But there was no atmosphere. A few decorations and some cd playing doesn't create Christmas. They couldn't make up their mind if the bar was open or closed. It is better to spread people out than restrict them to one area in a socially distanced environment! The food was the same every day on the bar menu. No specials. We were supposed to have nibbles on arrival, never did find them. There was supposed to be hot chocolate and mince pies on Christmas Eve, again no signage or direction. Absolutely nothing to entertain or do other than watch tv in your room. The movie night was a few dvds on a small tv screen in the lobby of the deck bar. If families had wanted to sit and watch you would be breaching family bubbles to see anything! There was no outside space to enjoy the views from. Even in winter if you wrap up warm you can still enjoy the outdoors. Offer blankets and hot beverages and suddenly you've got experience! We drove up to Greencastle Lighthouse and walked the beach instead. Christmas dinner buffet was ok. You had to point at what you wanted and they served you. Would've been better to just have it as a sit-down meal. If you want a second dinner just ask. Again it felt like you were in a canteen rather than a hotel. It should've felt like a wedding reception only festive. A "grand buffet" does not make it Christmas. You can find these buffets every weekend as a carvery in every hotel across the country. Ran out of Bacardi on Boxing day. Don't mention the magician. Bad doesn't cover it. Overall, extremely disappointed with the price we paid. We wanted a 4-star experience and we got a bed and breakfast. It can't be blamed on the covid restrictions, this was a management decision on how the hotel looked and felt for guests arriving. I think management need to seriously review staff training and view their competitive set. Look further than regional. See what places such as Ashford Castle, Wineport Lodge and even cruise ships offer for the festive period. All things can be adapted. Without the atmosphere then it's just another day. To stay competitive you need to adapt or die in this new normal. Charging top prices for the location only works if what the hotel offers matches. Unfortunately we got left short. No amount of "free" or "comping" replaces atmosphere. If you are doing it right, the number one rule of hospitality is never sell yourself short. Once you begin that, then everyone expects it. I would give it a second chance once we have other activities to do in the area, but it would need to seriously improve on food and pricing. Rooms need updating as it just felt like a tired 1990s hotel.

My stay over ChristmasStayed in the Hotel for four nights over Christmas. I found the staff vey friendly and informative. They were well trained, well mannered and courteous to all Guests. I had to complaints in regard to the upkeep of my room. The food was excellent and the Buffet dinner on Christmas Day was brilliant. The Health and Safety procedures were adhered to with plenty of signage on display in prominent places. Staff were well trained in the process. My stay at the Hotel was excellent from the moment I checked in until I checked out. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel and will definitely stay there again

Anniversary TripWe got married in the hotel last November and managed a quick visit this weekend to revisit our happy place. First off, massive thanks to Lauren for putting up with my endless date changes and her warmth and welcome both on arrival and check out, shes a credit to your hotel. Even with the times we are currently in all the staff were amazing even when under pressure. Restaurant was amazing as always even providing a burger off menu because my husband wasnt up for a fancy meal. We had a lovely room with a sea view and it was immaculate. Thanks also to the 2 lovely maintenance men that came and fixed the TV for us when all we wanted to do was chill after dinner. (The tv wasnt broken, we just couldn't turn it on). I worried that returning after a wedding we wouldn't be treated the same because essentially their work had been done but not at the Redcastle. Fantastic service and beautiful food. Cant wait to return in 2021.
