Wonderful stay!We had planned a family weekend to celebrate our youngest daughter's college graduation. From the very beginning, Doug and team were helpful, accommodating and fun to plan the event with. The rooms were very nice, clean and beds were comfortable. Each room has its own charm, it was hard to choose. Breakfast was wonderful, with a good variety for our picky eaters. Everyone agreed we should come back again for another stay!

AnniversaryMy husband and I love the dinners at this Inn! But most of all we love spending the night for our anniversary! The rooms are so inviting and the breakfast is out if this world!! This year we introduced it to our oldest son and his girlfriend. They loved it!

Beautiful Christmas! We stayed one night at the Red Rocker Inn, Christmas Eve. The Innkeepers were friendly and accommodating. We had a dinner reservation at the Inns restaurant, and were not disappointed. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about both the wine list and the dinner menu. Our meals were delicious, we both got prime rib, cooked perfectly and then shared a dessert. One of the best meals we ever had. The room was lovely. A king bed and a fireplace. It started snowing which made this Christmas Eve magical. Breakfast was fantastic, with lots of choices. If you want a getaway that will be memorable then stay at this lovely Inn.

Outstanding StayWe booked a room to celebrate my husband's birthday at Christmastime. We were able to stay in Elizabeth's Attic, a lovely room on the third floor with a warm fireplace and its own Christmas tree! We enjoyed a delicious dinner in their restaurant before retiring to enjoy the lovely room. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts charming and attentive.

Disappointed in Hospitality (Not as Before)Booked a stay this past weekend for one night, to take our son for a little family celebration (we have stayed here MANY times before). Although the housekeeping was still on par, along with food in the Inn's restaurant for dinner, we found hospitality (disappointingly) "lacking" from any experiences we have ever had there before. No one was available when we arrived; I had to walk through the Inn seeking someone, calling out "hello? hello" repeatedly, for several minutes, until someone finally emerged from the rear of the kitchen. Interaction was very non-personal (as never before); anyone we saw all weekend, as far as staff, appeared to be from the kitchen help, assumed both by dress and location. Though we arrived early (right after lunchtime), there were only 6 hardened-cookies on the "cookie bar", and lukewarm, weak coffee in the dispensers. Our dinner and waitress were both very good; however, the salmon dinner was unavailable, which we had viewed on menu prior to arrival and decided we would order (the pork chop dinner was a good last minute substitute). The breakfast buffet, which we had "talked up" to our son and he was very anxious to try, is now (likely due to covid) being served cafeteria style by different staff than we had seen the night before. Portions were kept small, and we felt uncomfortable to ask them for more (again, non-personal interactions); they appeared to stand "guard" over the food, and certainly didn't suggest or offer return visits (NOTE: which I did anyway; for bacon, which we had only been given 2 strips of: I was asked, "well, how many pieces do you want?"). Only coffee and water were sitting in view; we had to ask for juice (apple or orange), which was apparently retrieved from the kitchen. Though this B&B has always been a special favorite to us, I'm afraid this weekend much dampened that feeling, and we will have to give that some thought before returning when in Black Mountain. We left, much disappointed, and a bit embarrassed we had built this inn up so much to our son before arrival. We did note the appearance of very few other inn guests on this trip; only three other tables of patrons during dinner; and one other table at breakfast. Sadly, I can see possibly why.
