Dated and dirtyThe staff is very friendly but the room was dated and dirty. Side chair next to window had visible stains of varying colors all over it. The armrests were blackened/dirty, I didnt dare touch it. Curtains ripped and very difficult to pull closed and they were smelly. Carpet worn and rippled in room/hallways, shared the room with 3-4 moths that we had no real way to evict. (Just ended up corralling them to the bathroom light) The linens and towels were clean and the fridge looked new, that was a positive.

Treats locals like they're trashReally appalled... A family member had a room paid for over the phone via credit card... (she needed a place to go because her home was being worked on)... When she arrived they denied her because she is a local resident. The fact that they treat their own locals as if they're beneath them is absurd. I encouraged my family to file a complaint with the city itself to see what they can do. Aside from that, I'll be sure to never rent a room from there when I visit family... Air bnb is by far cheaper and friendlier. They don't treat you like you're trash if you're from the city.

Local Resident Extremely Unsatisfied With Red LionMy wife and I were renovating our floors so we decided to book two nights at the Red Lion. Upon arriving for check in, we were told that the Red Lion does not rent rooms to Cheyenne residents. The women at the counter was nice and explained that new management has put this policy in place. This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I will never stay at the Red Lion and I will encourage relatives and friends visiting for CFD or any other event to stay at any place other than the Red Lion. I can think of no feasible reason as to why the Red Lion would deny local residents the opportunity to stay at their hotel. My wife and I are young professionals and this negative experience is something that we will not soon forget! I would stay at any other of the multiple hotels near The Red Lion, but they certainly lost a customer for life.

Needs updating, but good stay for passing thru.We ended up staying here Friday night and checking out Monday. Cheap hotel (if booked through a third party site). We arrived at 1 am (Friday night/ Saturday morning). The front desk clerk was on the phone talking about her paychecks to someone so I had to wait 10 minutes before she even got to me. Then the "maintenance man" came down to the front desk while I was checking in. He was talking about how some woman's television wouldn't work. She got me all checked in and sent me to room 107. None of the outside doors were locked going into the hotel, there were 3 people standing outside smoking blocking the main entrance as we were trying to get in. We finally get to our room and the "maintenance man" comes and knocks on our door mind you this is 1:40am at this point. He said the front desk called and said your tv is broken- I said no not my room. It was just a very weird and uncomfortable situation. Now for the room- super outdated. Carpets were stained, trim was coming off the walls, curtain was falling down, and the surge protectors in the room were stained and looked like bug feces were on them. Pros- Conveniently located to food & downtown, cheap hotel rooms, shower was hot, beds were firm, pillows were soft, mini fridge & ac worked great. I would recommend if you were traveling through for a night and just needed a quick spot to rest. But not for a 3 night stay. I wish I would of got the refundable room rate because I would of checked out Saturday morning & moved hotels. You could also hear a lot of the road noise.
