  Exceptional service

  Our first time to Hakuba and James picks us up from Escal Plaza on time with a smile and the service never lowers from there. When we arrived to Red Door Lodge 5 minutes from our pick up Nicola and Alex were there to greet you with a big smile. The rooms were good size with 2 levels and nice and warm. Nicola, Alex and James went out of their way to help you with any request. I would highly recommend Red Door Lodge to anything that I talk to about our stay in Hakuba. Great value, Great service, Friendly staff, Outstanding location. Thank you so much for making our trip so memorable and hopefully we can come back. Regards Glenn, Dianne, Tom and Elizabeth.

  Worry-Free Great Family Ski Bed and Breakfast

  We booked the Red Door Lodge based on the already great reviews we had read and we werent disappointed. We were looking for somewhere with a family room or two adjoining rooms and Red Door gave us the perfect option: a family room where the kids were in an open-plan loft accessed by a ladder- they had their own space as did we. En-suite for us all to share. The room was basic but all we needed. A fridge for storing groceries in the room was great. Breakfast each morning prepared by James was fantastic! He cooks an excellent bacon on eggs to your preference. The communal drying room for your snow gear at the end of a wet day was really great too. Nic and Alex could not be more welcoming hosts; collecting us from the train station on arrival and an inclusive supermarket stop off and advising us on which places to eat at each evening (Pizzakaya was our favourite) and made the bookings each night.   Fantastic stay

  We had a fantastic stay at the Red Door Lodge. Many thanks to Nicola, Alex and James for being such great hosts! We only had 2 days for skiing and your help with pickup, ski rental, taxi service, restaurant reservations and more enabled us to get the most out of these days. And of course, the perfect weather also did help. Photos are from Happo and a nearby restaurant. Photos of lodge and rooms from the host on TripAdvisor corresponds to reality. Beds can be a bit hard depending on what you are used to. Lodge is clean and we appreciated having a family room and our own bathroom. Breakfast was perfect.

  Best place ever!!!!!

  Felt instantly at home. Nicola, Alex and James make you feel SO welcome! Nothing is too much trouble! The beds are super comfy. Great location for skiing. Had a good deal on ski hire through the Lodge. We were even taken by Nicola to hire them and bring them back. Great storage facilities in the Lodge for the skis. Breakfast was fantastic. Seriously the best place we've ever stayed for a ski holiday and we have been all over Europe.

  Repeat visit and would do again!

  This was the 2nd time back at Red Door Lodge for me, and as always Nicola, Alex and James make you feel right at home. From picking us up from the station, answering questions about the best way to get to the lodge (from the airport), getting us a great deal on snowboard+gear hire, to food and onsen recommendations. Room was warm and cosy (of course, it's Japan!) with a private bathroom, all very clean, and beds were comfortable. Breakfast daily is warming and delicious, highly recommend the cheesy omelette. They also help with booking lessons, and local restaurant hotspots.
