  Great quiet island close to phuket

  Over the many times I have visited Phuket, I never realised that there was an island so close which was so nice. The private speed boat journey lasted 30 min in a safe boat coordinated through the resort. There are 3 resorts on the island which I would class as high end, mid range family and backpacker. Rayaburi was a well priced family style resort in mid range pricing. We rented the 2 x1 bedroom villas which shared a pool on the deck between the two. The villas had a small living area downstairs and 2 double beds upstairs. The villas were an older wooden thai style building in good condition. We were a family with 3 young kids, so it was a little cramped in bedding for us, therefore we decided to rent another room beside the villas for space, which was affordable to do. The individual rooms are in blocks of 2, similar to duplexes. It was great having the pool to jump in, even though it was a little cold. The rooms and villas are all maybe a 10 metre walk to the beach which was a soft white clean sand, and turquoise blue warmish water. The restaurant had good food, and theres a little convenient store next to the restaurant. There are also another 1-2 little convenient stores a short walk from the resort, and you can access the beach on the other side of the island easily with a short walk. All in all, my family really enjoyed our 3 days on the island.

  Amazing and underrated

  My 8th time to Thailand and this was a positive surprise for us. Wanted to meet with Thai friends in Phuket after NYE and wanted something nice close to Phuket for a couple of days. We had a wonderful time. Very recommendable! It is not a 5 star but you pay much less and feel treated like a 5 star. Family run and extremely nice and helpful people. The rooms in the new house next to the pool are just great. Some people from the Racha Hotel next door, 4 times more expensive came over to our beach since much better as well as the food. They grow some of their food in own garden which is excellent. A paradise and we will return for sure.

  Amazing Unique Resort

  My partner and I intended to stay for 3 nights we ended up staying for 5. The private beach, the exceptional staff and the room was unforgettable. With a unique Portuguese colonial plantation inspired set on a spacious white sand and palm tree acreages, it is definitely one of the most unforgettable stays in Thailand. Each day we would head to the beach front restaurant to have breakfast before jumping into the crystal clear water but beyond that it was hard to leave the room - it was beautiful- we were fortune enough to have the chino garden view room with the extended balcony, which we spent a great deal of time; reading, writing and mediating. If you prefer character and spaciousness over modern and uniformity, this place is for you.

  Wonderful and super nice

  HOTEL: The hotel occupies its own beach in an extremely beautiful bay with coral-white sands and turquoise sea. Where other beaches are often photoshopped, here you get the actual colors. You can place your towel on the beach, or pick a deckchair with umbrella, or simply sit in the restaurant next to the beach. The premises are very large, you always feel like you are in a huge garden with birds and butterflies. They grow their own vegetables for the restaurant, and you can taste that. ROOM Our room (Chino pool view) and the bathroom were very, very spacious, nicely airy, and you had a terrace in front of it to sit, read, chill, or have a sundowner, while observing the vegetation and the pool. Flooring is made of beautiful Portuguese tiles. That whole Chino group around the pretty and shady pool is the center-piece of the resort and reminiscent of the Sino-Portuguese architecture you find in Phuket Old Town, Malacca, Georgetown, or Macau. STAFF The star of the hotel are the people working it. It is a family business, and what a nice family they are! The staff were also super helpful. Our daughter arrived with high fever, and at night I unfortunately broke the bottle of fever reducer. Next morning they had an equivalent shipped from a pharmacy on the mainland. There is also a permanent doctor in the hotel. We were also taken to a beautiful sunset spot on the rocks on the other side of the island and collected, opened and ate oysters right there... In general, everyone was accommodating of our every need. SUMMARY Upon booking, I was a bit unsure given the mixed reviews, and after arrival for a day or so I was trying to understand why some people were disappointed with this gem, and I can only explain some of the poor reviews with off expectations. This is not a sterile business or chain hotel, this is a very nice, beautiful, charming, and relaxed family-run resort.

  10 stars! Our favorite hotel!!

  Everything was perfect! This is our second year coming here and will not be our last! The staff are so attentive and welcoming you really feel at home from the moment you step off the speedboat! The check in and check out process is so easy they take care of all of your baggage and it's so fast. The food at the restaurant is delicious everything we ate , we loved. And all of the waiters are quick and always paying attention. The beach and the rooms are absolutely beautiful and the housekeeping does an amazing job!! Dont forget to tip , they work super hard and totally deserve it!!
