  Great room; attached restaurant overpriced

  Beautiful older hotel. King suite was very nice - lots of room. Comfortable couch and chairs. Seniors: low, small commodes. Restaurant attached, but we didn't think the food was worth the price. It was OK, but we expected better. Hotel itself was a great value. We would definitely stay here again. NO LAUNDRY ROOM.

  Great staff!

  I stayed at the Ramkota on the way back from my parents house in early December. This hotel rocks! I left my iPad in my room when I left the hotel and the housekeeper found it and took it to the front desk! The front desk person, Kathy (or Cathy, not sure) called my husband at home in Manitoba to say I left it there. She then sent it to my home. I am so happy for honest people. I don't know the housekeepers name but I really, really appreciate what she did. And also would like to thank Kathy for mailing it for me. It arrived safe and sound. I was planning to stay in Brookings, SD but decided to go on a little further even though it was getting late. I stopped around 8 pm and found the only hotel with rooms left in Watertown was the Ramkota. It's quite a ways off the highway so I wouldn't normally have gone to it. I was so happy they had a room! (One of 4 rooms left.) The check in desk staff were very friendly as was any other staff members I encountered. The room was a bit dated but it was clean so I'm fine with that. Thanks again!

  A Pleasant Surprise

  The only reason I gave this 4 ovals is to get people to read this to be aware of the remodel. Ask for a new room when you check in. The hotel is older, but they are doing a great remodel. I had a new room, and it was fantastic. Tile instead of carpet in the bathroom. Great HVAC. No problem getting on the Wifi anyplace in the hotel or convention center. The morning breakfast is the usual fare. I would like to see them add something like Cheerios for the cold cereal that is Gluten-free. But you can eat Gluten-free from the free breakfast. We recently was in NYC staying right on Times Square. The rate card in the room said maximum rate was $4999 per night. This room's card said $139. I just thought I would share that. The rate they did charge was one of the best deals I have come across in a longtime.

  Just booked a room. Woman on phone was NOT overly friendly. Sounded as if I was bothering her by asking questions. I told her I was LOOKING INTO booking a room there and she immediately asked me for my information rather than telling me about the rates or asking what questions I had. Bad sign!

  Outstanding Service

  Our recent stay in Watertown was to attend our sons wedding. The Ramkota staff were very efficient and helpful in scheduling the block of rooms for our guests, check-ins went smoothly, and room requests were met for those who needed to be near each other or on the ground floor. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Minerva's Restaurant is a part of the complex and was easily accessible for the rehearsal dinner and a Sunday morning brunch. Notably, Deb went above and beyond when she provided cooler storage for the 30 freshly baked pies we arrived with! Her assistance with labeling, transporting, and storing them eased our schedule and allowed us to relax and enjoy the festivities. Would highly recommend!
