This is a hooker hotel in a shady area of town. Not family friendly. Not recommended. We stayed here for 3 nights last week because we were moving to Bahrain and needed somewhere temporary to stay. We are a family of 5, including 3 small children (all under 8). Staff are genuinely welcoming, and the reception area is relatively clean and spacious, but to get to the apartment building was really annoying. You needed to go to the back of the building, exit a door to go OUTSIDE, cross a small lane, enter a back door to a building next door, use the elevators to your floor, before reaching your apartment. Just a bit too much doors and entering/exiting when you are trying to cart around a stroller and three children! The apartment itself was okay'ish. Very old fashioned 70s furniture, couch had a rip but the beds were comfortable. Hot water was plenty but the toilet flush was weak, and took about 5 minutes to 'fill up' before u could flush again. The safe in our room was missing its key so we couldnt use it. The kitchen was very disappointing. I had to ask for them to bring up a toaster, kettle, pots and pans etc. They supplied me with a toaster which was broken because it ALWAYS burnt the toast (u had to manually stop it otherwise it would scorch your bread), and they gave me two very large pots to use, and only one plastic ladel and a metal ladel. No small pots or frying pan, no egg flipper or tongs, or wooden spoon. Was very hard to use the kitchen. There was only small teacups (no mugs) to make a coffee and NO teaspoons. There was also no bowls (for cereal etc), and we had to ask on a separate occassion to bring a different power adapter so we could use the kettle and toaster. But the WORSE thing about the hotel is the fact that hookers are very welcome to enter. The first night we were there, around 8.30pm, my husband was just returning from reception and about to enter the apartment when a hooker stepped out from the stairwell exit near our door and tried to start a conversation. My husband ignored her, obviously not wanting to give her the wrong impression, but when he started to open our apartment door, she started to try and walk in with him, and he had to put up his hand and say stop, no no! Only then did she take the hint and walk away. But it happened again on the last nite we were there. It was around 9pm, and somebody rang the doorbell. I opened up the door and there was a hooker standing there (pink mini dress, face full of makeup) with a smile on her face....until she saw me and was like 'Oh sorry!' and walked away. Now I dont know if a) she had gotten the wrong room or b) thought my hubby was living there alone and went to see if he would change his mind if she approached him again!!! Ohhhh but guess what - when we told the manager about this the next morning when we were checking out, do u know what he did? He just smiled!! And when we were complaining to the taxi driver about this later, he said in this area its quite common for hotels to allow hookers to roam the floors to pick up clients, and also common for men to bring hookers to their room. THIS IS A MUSLIM COUNTRY and I feel absolutely disgusted to have witnessed this personally. I would never ever recommend this hotel or any in this area to ANYBODY! Shame on these hotels for turning a blind eye to this kind of behaviour, and for the manager to just shrug it off when we told him. This hotel is also in a dusty, back end kind of area, hard to find, and not near much. There are so many nicer hotels and apartment buildings in Bahrain, so avoid this one at all costs.
