Gran hotel.

Excellent Mid Range Hotel in Vibrant NeighborhoodYes - the hotel is a bit dated. Mid-Century modern decor is now cool again - and lobby does its best to pull off the cool vibe. I liked the look - but the worn fabric on furnishings took away from the nice space. Front desk and staff were very nice and easy to deal with. English was not perfect - but passable . The smiles made up for any impatience. Thumbs up to the staff! The dining room on the 14th floor was very good. A nice blend of Asian, American, European foods - with eggs and Pho to order. Great espresso machine - that worked well. Thumbs up for great breakfast every morning in a nice comfortable dining area with plenty of light and views. Rooms were nice - but a little dated. Not enough wall plugs for electronic devices. Shower was nice - plenty of hot water and pressure. Overall - no complaints. Air conditioning was a little quirky and as typical in Asia - room keys turn on electric in rooms. I'd stay again here. Not luxury - but consistent with nice staff. You'll be fine if you go in with the proper expectations.

Good breakfastInternational standard hotel. Very friendly and efficient welcome with good english spoken by all staff. I found the room a bit difficult to navigate - light switches were very confusing until I found that the ceiling lights (and only the ceiling lights) were anywhere through the telephone screen. There were no plug sockets by the bed and only 2 others to charge electronic devices. Modern travel needs multiple charging plugs and they need to be in reach of the bed. Good breakfast with lots of variety and both asian and western style cooking.

Needs workVery Basic business traveler hotel but to avoid if looking for anything special, modern or particularly comfortable. Desperately needs renovation in rooms. First room I was given was dark, dirty, with old furniture, not very clean, and with many dark ugly spots on the carpet. I didnt want to sleep there. When I asked for something different, they gave me a larger room with two beds which was cleaner and somewhat newer but still nothing special or luxurious in any way. Lobby area is nice and cafe attached is comfortable but expensive.

A hotel in need of a refreshWe were told this was the best hotel in Gwangju where we had come for hiking and as the Ramada name promises it is a typical hotel layout you would expect for a mid-level business hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel is tired and in need of a remodel. The lobby is nice but dont be deceived. The room was decent size with a reasonable but compact bathroom. The rugs were shot, water stains on the chairs and ceiling, mildew in the bathroom shower, the cold water faucet in the bathroom sink was barely a trickle and the in room safe continued to malfunction. Service was below expectations. The front desk staff were gracious but it would be a challenge for English only speakers at the hotel. Housekeeping was below standard, the room wasnt prepped with all the basic towels and the room wasnt fully cleaned on the first day. What the hotel does get right is the buffet breakfast in the 17th floor restaurant. Wide variety of good food including both western as well as Asian selections and cooks for eggs made to order. If this is the best hotel in Gwangju I would be concerned about what the others are like.
