  Disappointing stay

  Very disappointed! I am an IHG platinum reward member and was looking to join a new program when we booked this hotel for 3 nights. We got there and the pool on our side of the hotel was out of order. Heading to our room, we had to walk down a flight of stairs with all our luggage just to get to the room. The room service went from 6pm to 8pm only so we decided to get the camp barbecue out of the car and cook our own meals on the balcony. We didnt need the housekeeping for the first 2 days as we kept the room clean but when we checked out they charged $50 to my credit card because we cooked our own meals on the balcony and it was going to cost extra money for housekeeping to clean. Really, what about the 2 days you saved by not cleaning our room? Do I get money back for that? I will stay with IHG in future as they look after their members. We will not stay at Ramada ever again.

  get what you pay for?

  Wev'e stayed here several times & its always a bit hit & miss. Sometimes we get a nice room with views over the marina & sometimes its the long walk down to poolside rooms. Overall its reasonable but could be so much more. Lets start with reception, its always deserted? there is no enthusiasm always dreary faces. The foyer is large & empty of any features. The rooms do have views over the marina but some balconies look into others. Why does the TV start up with some Wyndham TV/ video promo? Overall its good enough to keep coming back to but they should use the great aspect/position to attract people to the place. Like a better restaurant with great food, have a band out on the deck on weeekends, valet service ETC

  Did Not Meet Expectations

  A very average stay. A terrible cover band playing to a loud and drunken crowd was what we were met with upon arrival. And by some misfortune our room overlooked said drunken crowd, which we thankfully only had to tolerate for an hour or so. Our balcony overlooked the outdoor bar area and onto the marina. Unfortunately we were unable toi use our balcony as each time we moved to go out there a male person (below in the bar area) who refused to look away from our room and balcony. It was very unsettling and a relief when the crowd, and he, left. We were also expecting an in-house restaurant as we had enjoyed an exhilarating but exhausting full day at Dreamworld for an 8 year old's birthday and had planned to stay in once we had checked into hotel. Actually no dinner restaurant, only bar snacks until 6.30pm when the bar closed. On the advice of the somewhat surly, recalcitrant receptionist, we ended up having to catch Ubers to a local Chinese restaurant (which was actually amazing). I was so disappointed to see the receptionist wearing thongs (footwear) as general attire. Also to see same person with barman taking a ciggie break in the front drive through entrance. The room was adequate. I'd never consider staying there again.

  Terrible communication

  We were booked into the Ramada Hope Island for the beginning of July 2020. Our flight got cancelled due to Covid 19. We tried emailing and ringing the Ramada just to see if we could change our dates to later in the year. They did not return our call or emails! I rang Wyndham and even other Ramada hotels. They told me they couldnt help as it was a franchise. I advise people not to book. We did not get a refund or even a offer to exchange dates! Absolutely appalling customer service! I will never again use another Ramada Hotel.

  Green Pool and Geko Navigator

  If I could rate this in the negatives I would. Our rooom overlooked a sickly green pond which I supppse was once a pool. A gecko showed us the way to our room and we had to go through a fire escape to get to our room. The 'award winning restaurant' promised to us was closed with dust gathering on the tables. Any staff we met looked shocked to see a visitor. Except for the surly man smoking in the foyer. If nothing else the Ramada at Hope Island provided us with a bit of excitement when navigating the maze of hallways to get to our room. This Resort is not for the faint hearted.
