  Worth the drive

  We booked one night at Eco Beach to break up our stay in Broome. Firstly - getting there: We had heard the dirt road in to eco beach could be treacherous in the wet season - and thats absolutely right! It rained the night before we drove out. Please dont attempt it if you dont have a 4WD. Even in our Pajero it was a pretty hairy drive. There were kilometre long stretches entirely flooded and parts of the road eroded away. However, after arriving (and a few stiff drinks later) we were very glad wed made the trip. The outlook over the ocean is beautiful. Its completely remote and very relaxing. We booked a garden villa which was much bigger than wed expected. The bed was very comfy. Couldnt get hot water in the shower but didnt mind due to the heat and humidity. We had a fantastic night here, booked dinner at the hotel restaurant and clocked up a pretty nasty bill after one too many bottles of wine. But worth it for a fantastic, relaxing and romantic experience somewhere completely removed from the hustle and bustle. The staff here were fantastic, and appeared to be working from dawn til long after dusk. The resort seemed to be booked out but the restaurant and pool areas were pretty quiet in the morning (perhaps most people ate in their rooms). The only real gripe was the mozzies and other flying bugs. I know its expected this time of year but they really were relentless. The windows of our villas were thick with dead bugs in the morning. If you can handle that, dont hesitate to book. Otherwise maybe try the dry season :) Thanks for having us, loved our stay at your beautiful property.

  **PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING** Rundown resort needs work, left 2 days early terrible experience!

  Here is my short version as the long one was too long! PROS.. -Food was really good -Maintenance staff very friendly and positive (the one guy we had try fix our faulty HWS) CONS.. -Unfriendly staff at reception, seemed to be understaffed with no compassion -No Christmas atmosphere on the eve and Christmas day - ended up on a plane back home Xmas day due to such an unhappy first 2 days here. We were so excited to change our flight and get out of there! -WARNING - KEYLESS RESORT - THEY SAID NOTHING WILL HAPPEN AND JUST LEAVE YOUR DOOR OPEN - YOU NEED TO ASK FOR A KEY AND PAY $100 IF ITS LOST -Power went off twice in 2 days, told the generator has done 1000000's of hours and waiting for a new one -The place was full of mosquitos, couldnt even go out of your room without soaking in bug spray and sunscreen -Beach was not very nice, told not to go in the water due to many jellyfish (stingers) one guy showed his injury -Pool was rusty, dirty and full of mosquitos. Needs painting or re-tiling and wasnt very refreshing. -Cant use pool once sun goes down,boo hoo -Our hot water system was faulty and never worked -Wifi/internet never worked properly, kept cutting out -No TV in the room -Bathroom has weird setup, toilet looks out to your neighbors Overall we were expecting an Oasis at the beach after driving for 1.5hours but got a rundown place with an unfriendly atmosphere we couldnt wait to get out of. This place needs a lot of work. Awards from 10 years ago dont cut it anymore

  Secluded and private beach stay

  I spent 2 nights in an ocean view villa and it was definitely worth the money. Especially in this wet season, an aircon is a must. The resort was manned with skeleton staff with the bar and restaurant closed due to wet season but that didn't bother me. The resort was very quiet and I had the beach to myself. The villa was well appointed and clean and had everything in it to make my stay comfortable. We had assistance at the drop of a text from the supervising lady. It is an eco resort far away from Broome and Wi-Fi is quite poor inside the villa. I was able to send a text while standing outside on the villa deck or at the common area. Again, it was actually nice not to get bothered by work related phone calls. I would recommend this place to have peace and quiet away from the busy world for a few days. Take food and drinks with you from Broome as there is nothing around the resort.

  Extremely disappointing

  Stayed for 3 nights (3 nights too many) was sorely disappointed. They were running out of food and alcohol. Five staff for 80 guests, felt sorry for them. Run down, aircon cutting out constantly. Dont go!!

  Weekend Stay

  Just had a quick weekend stay at this resort. Was lovely and quiet due to the wet season , so no restaurant or bar open but reception can supply drinks, ice, or ice creams !And if you run out of food there are bbq hampers available . Pool lovely and clear, you can see the bottom. Place seems a little wild, or run down, but with a bit of imagination you can see what itll be like when its busy and touched up. Will be back at some stage.
