    Great Staff

    The staff is the main reason to stay! Very Hospitable! If the property was maintained it would be ideal! Outside paint is peeling & neglected. No working ice machines & Obviously not a new issue. By the looks of All off the machines that the guests have access to old and need to be replaced

    Great hotel

    Great hotel! The staff was amazing and very accommodating. We arrived late in the evening and had no trouble checking in. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. They served a full breakfast of eggs, grits, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy along with cereals. Very impressive and delicious!

    Disappointed

    The bar described on the website is no longer available. And the restaurant also descried on website, is now only open for breakfast. The front desk lady told me that just started Saturday and they needed to update the website. The entire property is old. The room was clean. But the carpet was old and worn. When I plugged in my phone, the TV went off. We we sat on the bed, the clock went off. Definite wiring problem. At checkout the next morning, there was no employee to be found. Choose another hotel in New Iberia. There are plenty to choose from

    Last resort

    While in town for a funeral we needed a pet friendly place for our dog with exterior corridors. This was all I could find. I had requested a down stairs room but had failed to ask for one on the exterior of the hotel. At check in after running my card, I was told we would have to stay on the interior section by the pool. The whole front half of the hotel by the interstate is closed because of no hot water. She also said the side we were wanting was booked up. I told her we would take a look, but I highly doubted I would take it. We drove around the motel and it is very run down. After taking a look I went back in to tell her to refund my card and we were going elsewhere. Even if I had to go back to Lafayette. But before I could tell her she said she had found a room. Amazing, found it as we pulled back around. It was a handicap room but that was fine. The room itself appeared clean. But as always, I travel with Lysol and cleaning supplies for all stays. I was thrown back to childhood when I realized the door in the wall was to the room next door. Haven't seen that in years. Only cleaning issue I found was when I took my shower, a dried up wash cloth fell to the floor from the shower curtain. Which made me question their cleaning. The covid friendly breakfast is a joke. I get the reason behind it, but I haven't been told you could only have one pastry and one box of cereal. At check in I was told their was sausage and biscuits. There were but the morning clerk said you had to pay for the items in that location. Still wonder about the being booked up. I never saw more that 14 vehicles, including ours. The staff was friendly as stated in other reviews. So that was a huge plus. Overall, no I would not stay here again unless as this time there were no other hotels. If you have a pet and need pet friendly this is very reasonable. Only 25 dollars per stay, not night. Good places to walk them also.

    Dogs don't stay free.

    There is a 25 dollar fee for dogs, (you are paying more than non-pet travelers) and they put you in the worst side because have a dog. We had construction workers on our side. They smoked dope in their trucks and there was broken glass on the lot. Walked over to get ice and the machine was not keeping up and I was told it would be another hour before it had ice. (We went and got our own) No internet. We called the desk about this and we were asked to call for tech support. The tech told us they just needed to re-boot their system since they had high wind. (we fixed their internet for the whole hotel) The next morning we got an 8 am wake up call by their lawn service. People are on vacation, they may want to sleep in. When we checked out my husband wanted to let them know about some of this and the lady started arguing with him and said that he came in aggressive. What? They need to spend some time with the employees on a thing called customer service which they would learn that #1 rule is to listen and never argue back. All this does is make the customer angry which you should never do. Stay somewhere else.
