  Truly warm, hard working and hospitable hosts

  We have just returned from Ponte di Legno and were so happy with our decision to say at the Hotel Raggio di Luce. We were looked after so well by the owners, Carla and her husband - I've never been anywhere where we've been made to feel so very welcome and looked after - Carla works tirelessly to ensure her guests and happy and at home. Our room was absolutely super - spotlessly clean, super comfy beds and so peacefully quiet. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel - totally yummy - full of locally baked breads and home make cake - Carla was on hand constantly bringing more food and lovely coffee. If you want to visit Ponte & Passo for skiing - you will not be disappointed with this hotel. Its a little out of town, but beautifully positioned and a short drive to the cable car. Would definitely go back again. (thanks Carla! x)

  Mid season stay

  We stayed a few years back. In summer. All the town was asleep. This lady woke the town up for us and got the best resteraunt to serve us food on my husbands birthday. She cooked us a cake to eat the day after and also checked the webcam of the gavia pass to make sure we could get away safely. She is 100% passionate about her place and she gives the same to her patrons. We promised we would give her a review. Sorry it's late. I hope you remember us. We will always remember your kindness.

  The return was just as rewarding

  As promised, my husband and I returned to this beautiful place for our 15th anniversary, The town has grown since our last visit with numerous condominiums haven been built in fields that once held an abundant array of wild flowers and berries. Despite the rapid construction, what still remains is the warm, welcoming community of people who have call Ponte De Legno their home for many many years One of those people is Carla, the owner of Hotel Raggio di Luce. Her warmth, support and generousity is still there, treating us like long lost family members. Hotel Raggio di Luce is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and the food is good. Don't overlook this gem.

  Wonderland in the Italian Alps

  We visited this northern region of Italy to explore the petroglyphs / rock carvings which is the largest grouping in the world and the first UNESCO site in the world. When plotting out where to stay it was a little tricky to know where to book. The area that has some of the really important sites doesnt have much for lodging options. We decided to stay about 30 minutes farther north at the Raggio di Luce, and it was the perfect choice. The folks running it, Carla and Giordano were wonderful hosts. The apartment was very spacious with everything we needed. You will need to bring your own food or eat out unless you arrange otherwise. Carla recommended some great places to eat, a pizzeria in Temù and a trattoria just a little farther down the road. Both were excellent with lots of options at a great value. Carla also had lots of reference materials that allowed us to delve into the important rock drawings sites. She had lots of resources for biking, hiking, ski/winter activities and historical sights. The old churches in the are were lovely. Since we were a little off season, it was very quiet which we really enjoyed. Our room was #108, and we stepped up for the extra space with a balcony and a beautiful view. Theres nothing like having a meal in your room as you gaze out the windows at snow-capped mountains with lush vegetation below. Each morning, Giordano helped us wake up with a delicious cup of cappuccino for me and a cafe americano for my wife. He was very warm and kind. They also showed us their vegetable garden which was fun to see. If youre looking for a home away from home, this is a great place to land. Bravo to the Hotel Raggio di Luce!!   Almost like at home

  Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by Carla - the owner. Immediately we felt, there is something different. It feels like coming home. The dinner that we were then offered and for the next 9 days - (for a team of 15 people, incl. vegetarians) was prepared with so much love and thoughtfulness. Mushrooms that were handpicked, all content from the garden, or the forest. Absolutely amazing! And so tasty!! After a hard day of work in the mountains we enjoyed the spa - done with so much thought as well. For people who love the mountains and the nature and mindfulness - a must! Definitely a recommendation. Thank you Carla - to you and your husband!
