Healthy Holiday in Radium Paláce of JachymovIt is said that people come here with sticks and go home without them. This year we decided to visit the West of the Czech Republic the green mountains of "Kruné Hory" known for their spas. These mountains create 120 km border between the Czech and German countries. There are many paths for walking and cycling. Beside the natural beauty there are hot mineral waters. Jachymov waters contain Radon. Radon has healing properties to treat disorders of musculor skeletal system, rheumatic illnesses, disorders of spine and joints and many others. The hotel has a medical staff which decides what treatment is good for you. There is also a wellnes and relaxation programme. The beautiful hotel was build in 1912 in neoclassical style. The staff speaks English, German, Russian and other languages. It is the staff which makes your stayvery comfortable, always smiling and ready to help. The meals are calculated inCalories and there is a choice from seven meals. The breakfast is buffet based. Beside the health care , the hotel also organises concerts and half a day excursion to local castles, chateaus, monasteries and others. I have met a number of people who has been returning here for twenty years. We had a very pleasant and healthy stay. Thank you staff of the Radium Palace.

Retirement placeIs a very pretty palace but overpriced. The receptionist was very nice. We stayed in a junior suite, everything was cleaned. The suite has a small living room and a sleeping room. Not big but also not to small. The tv is only for the living room. The bathroom didnt had tissues but the water pressure and temperature is good. We book with half pension more 10 p/person the total was 180 for 2 people. The food is very poor and in the restaurant that closes at 19.30, the service is very bad the responsible from the restaurant was very unpleasant. We were the last to dinner at 19.15 and there were a lot of tables in the windows empty, they do didnt let us eat there because you have to stay always in the same table. I think they have special customers. They had feio buffets that they say one was French the other Czech cuisine, in the end were both the same. I ask for a beer and because I didnt have the room card I had to pay immediately after ordering...the spa is ok but small the water in the swimming pool was colder than they announced. The jacuzzi is small and the older people look at us like thats there place we shouldnt be there. The next day we went to have breakfast and the hidden table that they gave us was already full so they gave us another (smaller) and more hidden. They had still more empty tables at the windows with a view but that were not for us. We cannot take pictures in the restaurant . It looks like this hotel is used for people to do treatments. We felt like outsiders and not welcomed.

A Healthful and Restful StayRadium Palace exceeded my expectations in all categories. I came for the intensive radon bath treatment, but this facility offers many other therapeutic programs as well. The radon bath treatments are considered alternative in the US but considered mainstream in Europe, Russia, and many other countries; its safety and efficacy are backed up by medical research; and the national health plans of some Euro countries cover it. People come here year after year because they get relief from pain for long periods of time. On the other hand, where I come from, opioids are usually prescribed for intractable pain. Keep in mind that RP is primarily a medical facility though skiers stay on the weekend and there are a few day trippers. The entire RP is spotlessly clean, the doctors and techs thorough and professional. The service is wonderful. English is spoken at the reception desk, but you would be wise to brush up on Czech or German. The food is outstanding. Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets offers a wide variety of delicious and well-prepared foodeverything from roasted salmon with capers to couscous and feta stuffed eggplant. RP offers outings to nearby historical spots and evening entertainment. There is a lot to do in the beautiful village of Jachymov. Bring hiking poles.

Spa radium palaceIt s a clean hotel.the rooms are clean.very good location lovely view.Friendly people.Medical wise isn't very efficient. The Radon bath not always clean. They have some experience therapist but very few.The rest aren't very efficient. The timing of the procedures is very short. The food improved a lot this year.
