    Top rate - as usual!

    I have been staying here over a number of years and have found it exceptionally good. On our last trip to this B&B it was as good as ever. The underlying reason for its high quality is the hostess,Grace, who not only makes sure that the basics of comfort and care are one hundred percent positive but adds to the quality of the visitor experience with friendly and useful chats on the area and what is going on. The views from the ultra comfortable bedrooms out to the bay are heartening. Eating the healthy and more than adequate breakfasts in the bright dining room is the best start to any day. I hope to return for yet another annual visit next year.

    Stay ruined by the hostility of the host, who appears not to want guests in her home

    85 reviews and no less than 79 of them excellent, plus five good and only one bad? This does not ring true and does not accord with my experience. In 30-odd years of staying at B&Bs, I have never been subjected to the level of hostility that came my way from this landlady from the moment I set foot in the property. And Yes, I am referring to the same Grace described in the other reviews. The contrast with the woman I met makes me wonder who is writing the other reviews. I have no no idea why she went out of her way to be as hostile as she possibly could. Having given notice that I would arrive around 12.30pm, I rang her before leaving home to tell her that I had been unwell that morning and would be arriving around 2pm; I was trying to be considerate. I arrived on the dot of 2pm to be met by an inexplicably hostile, curt and scowling owner. This is the same woman that others have said allegedly met them with tea and biscuits. Really? At breakfast, she asked me a question, then, after I had begun to answer, she simply turned on her heels and walked out in the middle of my first and only sentence. This reflects the tone of our engagement from start to finish. I am not a difficult guest and I don't expect to be treated like royalty. Good manners and basic civility go a long way. But I would never stay at Radharc an Oileáin again. If Grace does not wants guests in her house, then perhaps she would be happier doing something else in life, rather than running a bed and breakfast.

    Grace is a wonderful host!

    We stayed 3 nights in Dungloe at Grace's place and were very happy. The B&B is well located - sea view as well as walking distance to the Bayview Pub... We enjoyed the breakfast and the comfort of the beds. A really good stay.

    Great base for travelling around

    We arrived a bit early and checked in with Grace who showed us our lovely room. We then had coffee and cake in the conservatory. The room was a good size with a walk in wardrobe and tea/coffee facilities and biscuits. Breakfast was cereal, yoghurt, tea/coffee, fruit juice, toast, irish bread,scones and a cooked brekfast which are huge. hubby had the full irish, i had pached eggs on muffins and scambled eggs on muffins another day. We had meal recommendations, places to visit etc. and Grace was lovely and really helpful.

    Quality +++

    Top quality all the way ! Just out of town, overlooking the bay. What really sets this B & B apart is the 'top shelf' quality of everything .... (well maybe not the driveway to the B & B !), but once you are there .... linen, crockery, food ..... all absolutely top notch ! Highly recommended !
