  A lovely change from busy Berlin

  Comprehensive breakfast in wonderful ornate setting. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, on the edge of beautiful Spreewald countryside. solid rather than splendid food. Well off the beaten track. Don't expect everyone to speak English, but everyone very forgiving of my appalling schoolboy German. I'm not sure I'd want to spend a long holiday here, but I'd recommend it to anyone for a few days out of Berlin. Great cycling country and easy to hire a variety of boats for the waterways. Avoid the gherkin beer. Really.

  Lovely short stay

  Rooms were clean, staff were nice, although woman in reception did not speak english, but it was not a problem. Room was big, it had a view to the forest, breakfast was plentiful. Restaurant by the hotel was lovely, big portions!

  Good stay in quiet area

  We, two couples, stayed there for two nights and found the place very good for touring the scenic Spreewald, as by car as by boat. The town of Raddusch is in the more quiet South of the area and we can suggest to take a boat ride starting directly from the little river "harbour" behing the hotel because it is much more personal and individual than the rides from the harbours in the Northern towns. The Service staff of the hotel is very nice and helpful, the breakfast is good and the restaurant, one of the few in the little town, can be recommended. The rooms, being not too large, but kept clean, are kind of average.
