Bad hotel, confusion over the name and listing

Ok firstly, this hotel sucks (Raddus JSS hotel that is, not the Grand Raddus) Secondly, there is some confusion as to the hotel titles. We stayed at the 'Raddus JSS hotel' in 39/41 Suleymanova St. There is also a 'Grand Raddus Hotel' listed which is a different hotel, it is on 1, 2 passage Kichik Mirobod Street. The above review shows photos of the 'Raddus JSS' facade and not the grand, so I can only assume they are referring to the same hotel which we had the dis-pleasure to stay in. We were extremely fortunate to have a very friendly and helpful gent, give us a lift in his taxi from the airport to the hotel. Poor fellow as we spent the next half an hour driving round and round, stopping to ask confused locals as the the whereabouts of this hotel. Finally we stumbled across it down a dark alleyway Upon check in, we were greeted by the half asleep- mildly interested staff and shown to our room. Lucky for us the room had been recently renovated, so we were only greeted by one large cockroach on entering. The bathroom had pieces of metal hanging off the wall and there was no drinking water. I ducked into the local deli around the corner to get some water (dehydrated after being detained at the airport for 2 hours as no one bothered to show up at the visa desk...that's another story) and unwittingly bought 'mineral water instead of purified water, that gave me the trots the next day....great start. Ok, next morning... breakfast.....if you could call it that. Self serve coffee and tea, stale bread. The next quest was to get the visa registration and a towel (only one in the room). This proved an exercise in persistence to finally get the 'dilligaf' staff to comply. The 'piece de resistance' was when I asked to get our laundry done. After several attempts to get a price list and article list, I was just waved off and told to just put it in a bag and leave it at the counter and it would be ready that day. It was ready the next day and came with a lovely bill attached....about $70 USD ! I argued black and blue with them that they ripped me off and was told to speak to the manager the next day. The next morning on checkout....no manager, still telling me it is normal price. As we were running late for the train we simply had to pay it and put it down to experience. 'Travellers tip for Uzbekistan' ALWAYS fix a price for ANYTHING...even a haircut! then check it again then get it in writing! Anyhow.....a lesson learnt, hope you get some tips from this story and maybe a laugh!

The worst hotel I have ever been

I wish I have never been in this place. From the airport some taxi driver suggested couple hotels and brought us to this one. I guess hotel and taxi drivers have a deal. The reception lady was so rude. She denied to get a visa card and asked to pay cash. After getting the money she returned it couple times and kept saying that the bank doesn't accept old money. There was no hot water for five hours. Rooms stink,I am not kidding. The wallpaper is rotten. Next morning there was no breakfast at all, when I asked the same reception lady she kept yelling that the restaurant was closed. What the ... I recommend everyone to be very careful before catching a cab in the airport... Thank you.
