Only stay if you have something nearMy girlfriend and I booked this place before reading any reviews (and safe to say we would not have booked here if we had) and although it was far from a great place to say, I didn't find it as bad as advertised. Firstly, we only booked this place as we were going to a wedding on at Langdale's Winery and as it is almost in the middle of nowhere there where not many options. We arrived at around 10.00am and although we weren't due to be checked in until 2.00pm, they were very hospitable and only took a few minutes to let us into our room. Also, extremely unexpected was the free wifi access which was an added bonus. I can't say that the first impressions were all that great when we arrived however. The cleanliness was about as good as mentioned in the previous reviews, there were a fair few cats and dogs walking around the property and there were a couple of abandoned cars/vans that seemed to be permanently sitting in the car park area. While the room itself had some stains on one of the beds, and the second bed seemed that it would be impossible to sleep on as when I sat on it I had a mixture of sinking completely into the middle while also getting stabbed by parts of the mattress. However, in terms of our needs this place did everything we needed it to do as we were only there for a couple of hours in the morning and then arrived back around midnight and had to leave for our flight home at around 5.45. This place is certainly affordable and if you are only going to be at the actual accommodation for sleeping then it isn't the worst place in the world, however if we were to stay there for the majority of our day or for multiple days I would definitely recommend staying elsewhere. The people were friendly enough although it is hard to make a judgment as we hardly saw them apart from them being generous enough to check us in a few hours early. There is a shared mirror/sink, toilet and separate toilet/shower and although I never used the shower while I was there, the toilet seemed clean. Overall, not a fantastic place by any stretch and there could certainly be a lot more done to clean the place up, both in the units and out, but for a place to spend a night if you have an event near that region it isn't the worst place in the world. Positives were free wi-fi, close to airport, early check in was accommodated....negatives were lack of cleanliness almost everywhere, unattractive setting, cats and dogs hanging around

Really GrossWe had booked in there for 2 nights we didn't even stay 1. It was disguising and very smelly. My partner took my 3yo daughter to the toilet and it was covered in poo. Would NOT recommend it to anyone.

A full bag of noI am not a fussy person and fine with basic accommodation, amenities etc. but this place just is well.. horrible. My partner and I arrived late (1 am) straight from the airport and thankfully, had already planned to leave early the next day to continue our journey. We basically only needed a place to sleep a few hours but we almost turned around in the door and slept in the car instead. The room was smelly and felt filthy, stains on the sheets so I barely wanted to lie down. Was so tired so put on my skiing under-layer with long legs and sleeves to avoid skin contact with the bedding. Toilets also smelly and filthy. Happened to have a look into the "reception" which is basically the owners bedroom/home or something. Filled with cat food and booze bottles. We slept a few hours and left even earlier than planned. Unless you are desperate, don't do it. And even then, sleep in car or just stay awake.

FILTHY DIRTY AND RUDE STAFFWe booked here and lost our money as they don't give refunds. It was so dirty we went to another hotel and paid again. I would not want my dog to sleep here it's do dirty. To top it all off the manger was extremely aggressive and rude to us! STAY AWAY

Should be closed downTotally grim - stained bottom sheet- no top sheet just a blanket. Room was filthy. Kitchen/canteen has no kettle & is full of old blackened saucepan, cracked crockery, dirty fridge. Should be condemned. We were unable to open the window for ventilation as huge set of heavy drawers in front. Two cats constantly trying to come in. Misleading advert as not near airport - taxi cost $35. Worst place stayed at in South Island. Owners need to thoroughly clean & repaint throughout- throw carpets & cupboards- provide stainless steel kitchen tops, throw old kitchen & pans.
