Very Pretty, Spotlessly clean, Family run Hotel

We stayed here for 4 nights, The gardens where fabulous, very colourfull. The Host Manuel and his wife where extremely attentive. The room was traditionally Portuguese furnished. Very Quiet. area, but only 5/10 minutes from anywhere within. "The Golden Triangle" . However at only E50 per night was exceptional value during the high season. Would I stay again?? A most definite YES.. and from a guy who has been in 58 countries that is praise indeed.

    Correct

This was the cheapest option we found in the Algarve in the month of August. Furniture and facilities require a renovation and althougn it is spotessly clean, there is a funny smell around the place. The owners are good, pleasant people. It is not far from beautiful beaches, but for me it is a cheap and convenient place for "passing", not to say and enjoy (although it has a pool). We paid 75 Euros a night, plus 10 for two breakfasts. For virtually no difference (90, 100 Euros a double room including breakfast) we have stayed at wonderful quintas in the Algarve.

Lovely, well located and very clean guest house

This guest house saved us, after we managed to escape from a horrible villa we'd rented but just couldn't face staying in. Manuel and Fatima are lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome, especially as we had rung countless times for directions (don't worry, the place is easy to find, it's just that we had no map and didn't know where we were going). They even brought us a bottle of champagne for our wedding anniversary - very thoughtful and much appreciated. The house is not super luxurious, but represents good value for a short break. All the energy-saving lightbulbs give it a slightly institutional feel, and they could perhaps have a few more pictures on the walls, but it's very, very clean, even if there is a slightly musty smell about the place. If you have long hair you might find the water pressure a bit of a challenge and the beds weren't overly comfortable or large, which is why I'd consider it suitable perhaps for a short stay only. It's in a good location, minutes away from very good restaurants and lovely beaches. The drive to Faro airport is about 20 minutes. We didn't try the breakfast, available at only 5 euro, as we had made other plans for the mornings we were there. There is free wifi in all the rooms and satellite television. They do supply soap and shampoo but not beach towels so were advised to go to Lidl and buy some! I do feel that if there's a swimming pool, there should be towels available for use - it's the kind of thing that they can easily do but makes a big difference to guests, who perhaps don't want to add the bulk to their luggage. If you're travelling around Portugal, do consider it as one of your stopoff points.
