Very friendly place in beautiful landscapeWe stayed for two nights an the Quinta do Riacho. The owner are very friendly people. They showed us everything. So we got to know their huge garden where they grow tea plants (the even sell their tea and yo can try it at breakfast) and lots of fruits. We were invited to pick up raspberries and blackberries whenever we want. They really cared for us and gave us lots of hints what to do. Even the kids knew my weakness for the young cat which lives there, too and picked it up for me when it ran along :) The natural pool at the garden is very refreshing. You can enjoy the awesome view to the valley from it. The rooms are very spacious and clean! The whole Quinta is located at a very rural and cosy landscape. There are lots of old stonehoses and narrow streets. You can be sure to have a relaxed stay there. Don't miss to go to the cascades (Cascade Tahiti might bevery crowded at weekend but there is a small cascade near Ermida with a beautiful hiking trail - there were only 3 more people. So much place to swim at the natural pool).

An outstanding place to stay highly recommendThis place is a real gem of a place what a find. It sits in an elevated position with great views over the village. The rooms are superb, well appointed quite and well just great. they were very clean and very comfortable with excellent bathrooms. its just on the cusp of hotel/ guest house. It has a games room and a tv room as well. there is also a bathing pool which if fed by a natural spring which is great to relax in at the end of the day. It has secure parking and we were free to roam the garden and to help our selves to the fruit which was growing in it. the hosts were outstanding. Just a note to say the drinking water out of the taps was the best I had in the whole of our holiday, so top up your water bottles before you leave. Breakfast was good no problems there. The only draw back we could find was no on site evening meal however at the top of the village on the opposite side of the valley is a great eating place, with great views and is well frequented by the locals and is well worth the effort.
